    Default Still there

Nope, just used your link above and they're still there. Even their scratch and dent stuff is more expensive than other places however.

Still going but who cares? If you're going to buy off the 'Net, why not get better prices? If you want to pay that much, give me the money and I'll buy you stuff for cheaper :)

If you can find stuff on sale they are hard to beat. Customer service before, during and after a sale ranks up there with Polk. Generous return policy and they are AUTHORIZED dealers for all that they sell. They have been around a while and will more than likely be there after some of these e-tailers are long gone. There is definitely value for shopping at Crutchfield.

I like Crutchfield, and agree....the sales are a must. I have picked up a couple things on sale, and while it may be a few bucks above every other place, I'll take the no-hassle purchase anyday.

They have customer service like you wouldn't believe, and never a peep on returns. I demo'd ALOT of stuff through them beings you can return them within 30days. There is nothing like having gear show up every 14 days for a 6 months.

Hopefully they've changed by now but before I got into the industry as a salesman (when I was still learning), I used to call them with questions and their salesmen were FAR from knowledgable. Being a 16 year old hobbyist, I knew more then they did. Again, I hope they've changed.

I only mean customer service in the respect of handling returns and claims as such....they aren't about to teach me anything new when it comes to home audio. I know what you are saying Toxis.

Ditto! The only thing that I really like about them is that items that are not available to me in the local electronics stores anymore, are still part of Crutchfields inventory. The reps are not very electronics smart at all. I have had questions and the response was "Umm", or "I'm not sure, hold on." But overall, they are okay. By the way the site is still good.

I think it depends on who you get for a rep at Crutchfield. You can get any person when you call their 800 number, and even though they are likely trained, my bet is that some know a LOT more than others simply because that may be their "thing"/hobby. And you don't have to know too much about something to be able to tell that the rep you are talking to may know a LOT less than you do about the item in question.

Overall I like Crutchfield. As said before, customer service is second to none, and chances are pretty good that you will get someone knowledgeable, IMO. You get what you pay for, as usual.

I have a feeling that crutchfield reps are more skilled in the arts of car audio rather than home audio...

Now Tweeter sells Polk LSi speakers I have no reason to buy from Crutchfield, although their pictures are helpful. The Tweeter store near me will price match anything from Crutchfield if they have a sale.

I haven't been down to Crutchfield's outlet store in Charlottesville for a while, but they usually have good deals there on scratch and dent things. They've been in business a long time and don't appear to be going belly up because they adapt to changes in the market. The "average joe" home theater market has been very good to them.
