    Default Magnetically sheilding and LCD

Ok, stupid question here folks - how vulnerable is an LCD screen to a non magnetically sheilded speaker? The same as a CRT? More, less, not at all?

    thanks,

    Sean

Since LCD does not use magnets to control the electron flow like CRT I'm thinking that LCDs wuld be immune to inteference from unshielded speaks.

Keep in mind that I'm not an electronics wizard, I just play one in my head

    Greg,

Thanks for your response. Ive heard that some use soft magnets which has me concerned! I too would think that LCD's would be immune., but I dont feel like making a few hundred dollar mistake!

I haven't tried it, but I don't think it would do anything. Because on the mobile side of things, you'll see people with in-dash dvd players with lcd screen and also have an 8" woofer or 2 built in the dash too. :)

I've seen speakers put right next to LCD's without much trouble, although I recall most of them being sheilded to begin with.

    Thanks for your response fireshoes!

I also was of the thinking that there would be no problems, but not being sure I went down to the local FS and asked them. They claimed no problems would occur so i said "Great, lets try it." We got a 10" car audio sub, and there were no visible problems with the TV. I figured that someone should try it with their gear instead of mine or yours.
"Sure, everything looks bad if you remember it!"
