I not sure that I have ever mentioned her here before or not but our daughter is scheduled to have surgery in the morning to have what they commenly call a feeding button put in place and to have her stomach pulled up around her esophagus to help with acid reflux. We are both a bit uptight about it as it does have its risks.
The reason for all of this is that when she was only 5 months old ( she is 11 now ) she suffered a major stroke that as a result left her unable to care for herself and with not much hope for to ever improve, and in a wheel chair. We have had to feed her baby foods and can nutrition through an oral dispenser for all of her natural life. Our biggest issue now is that her eating has deteriorated to the point that she is not able to maintain her weight, we have been told that it will only get worse as it does in children that have c.p. as they get to a point that they will refuse to eat at all. Her c.p. is due to the stroke.
I hope that every thing goes well for her, her life has been so rough already that I just hate to put her through anything else, but she will benefit greatly from it. I will try to find a p.c. that I can log onto and let you know how she is doing.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
