I just got done watching it and found it to be very entertaining. Sure, there is some stiff dialogue and it starts out a bit melodramatic but it gets better after the first 10 minutes and is certainly worth watching. CG effects were generally quite good and SQ was solid (the ice scene was very well done in particular).

I've always enjoyed Arthurian legend and this one has a totally different take on the myth, which I thought was interesting and kind of cool...much more gritty, less pomp.

Watch for some obvious borrowing of imagery from Gladiator, Braveheart, The Patriot and even Pearl Harbor (Bruckheimer obviously just can't help himself).

Worth a rental at the very least. And duh, Keira Knightley is in it. Yum.

I saw this at the theater and thought it was pretty good, except I had a hard time with the movie title in terms of how he earned the title of "King" - what the hell did I miss here?!

Ha ha...good point...reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail... "Well I didn't vote for you" and "Look, strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is hardly the basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power comes from a mandate from the masses not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!"

Showing off my chess club and dungeons and dragons heritage there...aren't I?

The only reason I bought it is because Keira is in it. Hahahahah....Oh well....It's a long weekend and I've seen pretty much everything else that looks interesting.

Good epic battle film. Plenty of sword clanging and snotty accents.:) Overall, it was entertaining if this is your type of movie. I will watch it again later on. I fell asleep on it the first time, but once I watched it, I enjoyed it.

I got this for christmas and was not sure what to expect. I thought it was really good. Much better than I was expecting. It is the first King Arthur movie that portrays him as an actual human rather than a mythical demi-god. The magic is all tricks and the man is torn between doing what he feels he must and what is best for his men.

That being said, I still think the best Arthur tale told thus far was Excalibur.

Much better than I expected. A bit cliche on occasion, and definitely did borrow from Gladiator, Braveheart, and The Patriot - but it was gritty, realistic, well-paced, and good looking.

    Default Excalibur.

If you want to understand and enjoy the complete story see:

    Excalibur.

The story line is complex and logical as is the legend.

Most viewers can't even keep the charaters straight.

There is much killing, great music, well written, very well written, one good sex scene, incest, really bad hateful people and wizards, some interesting philosophy, and get this they have big time character development (King A and Merlin).

Just my $0.02 but all the other similar movies suck in comparison.

The other movies are like comic books.
