1 - Yes, I believe this is the most expensive model they make.
2 - It's definitely great for both applications, but I think it's better for 2 channel music, but only becuase it may be overkills for a 5.1 system with a good sub. If you're using it primarily for 5.1 AND will have a good sub, you might want to look at the LSi15, 9, and 7 as well...
3 - As far a build quality,l yes they are excellent and built very well. As far as sound, that's subjective, it depends on what you're looking for. I personally don't own any, but it appears that most everyone likes their sound...
