    Default rt55i

I bought a pair off trademe for $400 on christmas eve. I won the auction for $285 without reaching reserve. He gave me a fixed offer of 400, i consorted with brody05 who said he would take them off me if i was unhappy with them. I push the button and arrange to pick them up the next day, and guess what....... Theyre in as new condition, damn i love it when that happens!

Anyways i get them home play all sorts of music/movie scenes through them and am just blown away. I just am totally amazed with these speakers, so much so that brody05 aint gettin his hands on these.hahaha. The wife thinks they have enough bass for her but i will add a sub a psw650 hopefully if not that am not really sure which one. These have to rate as one of the best polk has ever made (sda's aside). The power handling, the bass (for a bookshelf), the sheer smothness, and that all important toe-tap-factor, its all there in spades. Oops im raving now, i'll move on.

p.s As for last night brody05, thank you (and tania) for the entertaining evening. Your animal flesh searing skills were impeccable.
Those 3000's, yeah like i said i could live with them now, but those tops are still imo gasping that little bit compared to the 55i's. As for the drivers, dont sweat it, i'd have done that for anybody and anyways i'm positive you would have done the same.
btw the wife thinks youre a nutcase with how loud you listen to it.;)

Thanks mate, the BBQ was nice ey.....

And I thought it was good of me to knock the volume down to the -05 range, I am a member of the like it loud club as you know.

One day will get round to making new satelites cabinets a bit bigger but hey they pretty close to intentions now, to be honest if they were that much worse I would swap with the 55is in the rear but they really not too far off and its only at the high spls that one can notice, too many other jobs to do as you know...... Got to keep the mrs happy....... Within reason, but that speaker is staying infront of the french door.

I am not alone in saying that blocking half of a set of french doors to the back yard for the sake of ideal speaker placement is not unusual, at least you can still walk through the half not blocked...what do you guys/gals think?

Maybe someone can chime in here and see if my thoughts on the bass being less intimidating due to the larger room and 3 meter high ceilings, I have the sub volume from -7 (in the last house) to +2 (now) and it still seems less than the last place I was in, now set up in a room 6.2 meters by 6.3 meters and the high ceiling, does it decrease bass 'impact' by having more volume to fill?

Those 55is, they are a great little speaker, I wish I had of looked at them to start with and not just gone straight to the floorstanders dept....

Was that a little hint on the PSW650???? Thanks for the drivers, it was very good of you to arrange to get them for me, I am exhausting my supplies.......

PS. I replaced the burnt out rails this morning, what a laugh ey.....
