Metal strip on LSi15 ? Do you use it.

Due to some recent changes to my 2 ch. setup, I want to use single speaker cable instead of Bi-Wire or Double run.

I have never used those metal strips that came with my LSi15 to connect Bass & Trebel connectors.

Have you used them or have any alternative that you have found better.

Any opinions or suggestions ?

If you don't want to use it just use a short length of speaker wire from the bottom posts to the top. Badda Boom, Badda Bing!

You will not want to use the metal strips that came with your LSi's.

An alternative would be to use good speaker wire to run from the top posts to the bottom post.

If you are using banana plugs to connect from the amp to speaker, then use either bare speaker wire or wire with spades on the end to connect the top to bottom posts.

If you are using bare wire or spades from the amp to speaker, then you can use banana plugs to go from the top to bottom posts.

Depending on the gauge speaker wire you are using, you can strip a few centimeters of insulation off the wire and run it from the bottom to the top(or reverse) binding post. I would try this last since you would have a good amount of bare wire, which oxidizes faster and also is exposed for possibilities of shorting out the wire.

I will be using spades on speaker wire, as I am not very confident about Banana Plugs loose contact.

So I think I will go with Some good speaker wire.

Gauge, I think 14 should do it.

Another thing that was bit surprising was that LSi top post only serve tweeter not mid range woofers, as I was expecting.

I am not sure if thats normal or its only LSi.

Unless you are planning on disconnecting your speakers on a regular basis skip the spades, banana jacks, etc. All you are doing is adding another connection that you don't need. Bare wire into the terminals is all you need.

I fully agree with you on this, very few people believe this but I do believe that less connector means better signal.

I always use bare wire, unless untill cable I am using is factory terminated.

Banana Plugs - they are never tightly secured so I dont use them, I know it may sound ridiculous to some but thats me.

Even with spades or bare wire I use AQ wrench to secure them tightly, believe it or not, bass does get better after you tighten them.

Nothing at all but some folks feel that a wire jumper improves the sound quality.

I can see it would be easier to connect, but... is that the only reason? Or is there some sonic wonder...
