They definetely look like walnut 1B's too me! What's the main difference between 1B's and 1C's as far as SQ?

I know what it means thanks, it was an answer to that question.
I may be bidding on these.... what would be a good price for 1c's in good condition?
Would make an excellent front stage. (with my 1b's in the back...)
Thanks,
Michael

Asked the seller the following:
From the picture you have listed, the speakers sure look like SDA 1b's in a walnut finish. What color is the cabinet? Have you upgraded or changed any of the drivers? Have you done any work on the crossover? Thanks for your time, Michael
He responded with:
These are black. They are SDA 1Cs. THEY SAY IN BIG BLACK LETTERS ON THE SIDE OF THE BOX 1C
and (in a separate e-mail)
Nothing done to the cross overs I replaced one driver and it was replaced with the polk
Other than a lack of personality, anything I should be worried about? I would be able to pick these up so would pay at pickup time. (reducing that worry) Any other things I should ask or watch out for? Any idea as to the worth of 1c studio's?

Are the "BIG BLACK LETTERS" in crayon?
They're B's... C's have SRS style "caps". These have walnut cabinets.
Michael, go see them if you can. If they're as nice as it seems they may be (always a good sign if the seller is anal enough to keep the boxes), you can fold shipping into your bid...

Tried to break the reserve, good luck everyone...
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin
In keeping with Polk's practice of using up remaining parts stock, some of the very earliest SDA 1C's had the brown woodgrain vinyl cabinets in the style of the SDA 1B.
Now that I think of it, the whole "black studio version" thing with the SDA 1C and SDA 1B may have just been a way of using up the older style cabinets while simultaneously selling the newer style cabinets with the end caps.
Makes sense... Not good inventory management, but makes sense...
You think if we were to slip a cabinet or two into their warehouse during the April tour, that'd force them to bring back the SDA?

Nah,
They'd just sell them to some eBayer looking to replace his busted and abused cabinets before he auctioned them off.;)

If anybody is still interested in these, they are without question Studio 1C's, all black. The dead give away is there is no overhang at the top as would be if they had end caps.
Some of you guys need your eyes checked. :D
