Sharp eyes, there, mon ami.... Middle tweeter in right channel is a tad dented...

Maybe the owner should have "pushed" them... ;)

There is no doubt that one of them is damaged, however the SL3000's came in different color tones, some silver, some blackish and some with a golden tone. It's very hard to tell from the photos what condition they are in.

The original SL3000 is no longer available, but Polk does have a replacement. I do have two SL3000's in NOS minty condition for sale should anyone need them.

If you were close enough to ask for an audition, certainly could be worth the time.

2.3tl's are a fairly rare bird on the used scene (and even rarer new... ;) ). $1000 would not be outrageous for them, IMO, if they are in good shape... and clearly there are some questions here.

At around $45 per replacement tweeter, having to throw another $270 at them would not be a welcomed event... Seller also does not mention the interconnect and one of the grills may be stained...

There are a couple proud 2.3tl owners 'round here... TroyD and some guy in Maryland...

just not sure how much to go with in price
especially if they need fixin`

or just let em pass and keep looking

My bias opinion.....they are great speakers. They usually run between $900.00 to $1500.00 with the lower end being more common, but IMO are well worth $1500.00. As Tour suggested, if at all possible go check them out first.

They are about 8 hr drive away...

Ya never know. Contact the seller, talk to him on the phone and ask a ton of questions. Get some close up shots as well. If you do win the auction and they turn out to be less than he represents them to be you have every right not to go through with the deal.

BTW, I drove 17 hours round trip to buy a pair of speakers once. Doro was kind (read crazy) enough to go with me. We had a blast, but I know his lovely wife was ready to kill me as I was suppose to have him back by 5pm, it was closer to 2am.....lol.

Good point, Jesse... I'd even suggest asking the seller for a no DOA guarantee. And if you can offer cash at pick up, it strengthens your position as a buyer.

In the other thread on these, trubluluc indicates this is a seller he communicated with a while ago...
