Default FS: SDA 1C - Dallas local

Yep, pair of 1C's with original boxes up for grabs. Drivers are minty (SL2000's), cabs and grilles are in great shape. Walnut end caps have a couple light marks, nothing major or deep. Comes with an AR 12ft 'pin' cable.

$500, Dallas local. Will be willing to drive a LITTLE to meet a forum member. These will be headed up on the usual public sites within a week.

Pic or two to follow later tonight.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    Thanks!

I've always wanted some 1's. I have always thought them to be kinda in the "sweet spot" of the SDA lineup. Not so big they couldn't be handled, but big enough to pump some bass of their own.

I sure am looking forward to 'em!!

But the question now becomes what is hiding in Russ's mancave...?

Listening to your 1C's Dennis, with 8 teeny tiny watts of tube power.

The price just went up, $600. ;)

I can't do that. They will be boxed, wrapped in chain and locked.

I can't have people listening to speakers before they buy them. That would be taboo.

Tubes will exist in my setup in either preamp or power amp, I have been waiting on some SDAs to try some different things.

My Ariston RD40 TT and Luxman CD and Soundstream DAC have been patiently waiting to get to something other than my HT speaker (RTis) setup to show me their stuff.

I am sure they will be happy with the change.

There will be plenty to choose from here, as far as what you want to hear them on. My favorite so far, is the Audire Crescendo. I'm picking up a CJ tube amp tomorrow, that I plan to use on the Spendors. It's 75 watts a side, I'm sure it will drive them into next week.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Default They are more than I could ask for!!!

These won't be leaving my "Mancave" any time soon! I don't even have them optimized yet and can't believe what I have been missing as far as soundstaging.

Thanks Russ for offering them up here to keep them in our court.

I would also like to mention that visiting Russ' place is like a trip to a pharmacy warehouse for the audio addict! Nice stuff at every turn and I appreciate the reverance he has for some of the finer pieces of vintage tubage. His own touch of interior decor reeks of his fondness of all things audio.

Oh and BTW, he really is a good guy no matter what you all have to say about him!:D :D

Enjoyed the visit and love the speakers,

    Dennis

Congrats Dennis on some nice speakers dude.

Anytime I think I'm insane with the 4 rigs I've got setup in my house, I can think of people like Russ and many others who enjoy this hobby with a passion and know I am not alone.

As far as being a stand up guy, Russ offered to get me out of a bind with a preamp problem I had yesterday (which turned out to be thankfully just a bad IC connection from rotating gear in and out) that far exceeded my expectations.

Russ is a stand up guy, for sure... 100%!

We need pictures and a review man! pics and review! Required! LOL

Dennis, happy to hear they are with someone who can appreciate them. I only wish I had more room in them to give you a better deal.

Now, call Ken and order the replacement tweeters as we discussed, and unload those minty SL2000's.

As soon as a date is figured out on the Baltimore gathering, we'll discuss flight arrangements - believe me, you'll fit RIGHT in with the Hardcore members.

Paul, not only are you a shockingly handsome man, I consider you a good friend. I take care of my friends, period. If you ever have any issues with the SHA-1, don't even call or write, just send it to me, and it will be handled in short order.

Trey, another day or two. Had to pack a Revox tape deck, a pair of Scott Model 99 Tube monoblocks, several cables, a couple JBL 15" woofers, and some audio grunt. The beemers will head out Wednesday at the latest, I'm picking up a truckload of packing supplies late tomorrow. The good news is, they don't smell like cat piss anymore (as far as I can tell), and I got almost all of the pigs blood stains off the front baffle and drivers.

    Cheers,
    Rooster
