    Default OT: Shipping To Canada

Does anyone know if I need a customs form to mail a video game to Canada? Like an idiot, I just dropped it in the mailbox in a bubble envelope and wrote Air Mail on the front. I didn't specifiy what was in the package or how much it was worth or anything. Do you think they'll send it back? I'm worried because it was an ebay auction, and I don't want to get into any major hassles.

don't know the answer but have a similar question :)

i won an auction on ebay but didn't notice the seller was in Canada. How long should I expect it to take to ship a DVD to someplace in the U.S.? it was supposed to be a valentine's day gift so i think i'm screwed. supposedly shipped on Feb 2.

You need a customs form for any package sent to Canada. How did you know what the postage fees would be???

I went on the USPS website and used the shipping calculator. The package was very light--just a couple of ounces--so I just put like $2 worth of stamps on it to be safe. I was under the impression that any item worth less then $20 was non-dutiable, so I wouldn't need the customs form. Now I'm finding out differently (although I have read varying opinions). I'm hoping it gets through somehow. If not, I guess I could always offer to refund the money.

Duty fees and customs aren't exactly the same thing. Any time I send a package out of the country (not first class mail) they have me fill out a customs form regardless of the value even if it is a gift. Call the USPS to confirm.
