Speaker advice, buying @ polk.com

Hey guys - Thought I would drop in for some quick opinions. I think I have decided on the following setup for a 99%ht/1%music system:

Mains: RTi8's
Center: CSI5 or RTi6?
Surrounds: FXi5 or RTi6?
Sub SVS - Prob the 20-39Pci
Reciever is TBD.

So, Should I just run RTi6's for center/surrounds, or go with the CSi/FXi stuff? Due to the layout of my room, I dont think I would get a big boost from the Di-pole surrounds, because they could not be wall mounted to the sides of the listening location, and my viewing location will be backed up to the rear wall - thus not much for them to reflect off of.

Also, I notice when I add the RTi8s to my cart on Polkaudio.com, it is giving me the choice between the free atrium speakers, and a $150 gift card for a future purchase. The RTi8's are $699, with free shipping and the 150 gift card. The best I can find them for on EBAY right now is 600 shipped. No warranty if I buy on ebay, though, correct? Im also unable to find any info regarding terms and conditions of the gift-card - But I was thinking, buy the mains, get the card. Buy the surrounds, use the card, get another, and then buy the center, use the card get another, and then buy cables, etc. Anyone know if this will work?

OK, let me give you my two cents worth. I think you should buy the best and that may mean you work yourself from the front to the back. I say this because I had some experience this weekend in the same area your in. I started off with wanting the rti 8 with the csi 3 and then adding the fxi3 or the rti4. I went to frys and got the rti 10 instead. I listened to the 8 and the 10 and was told this simple fact. Why not get what is the best now so you dont have to upgrade down the road. That means the RTi10' for the fronts, CSi5 for the center and Fxi5 or RTi6 for the rears. I will go with the Fxi5. Use the free speakers you get for rears for now and upgrade your speakers to the 10 and the 5. I am still working on the sub but that will come later since I have a decent one now. I will tell you that the rti 10 kicked the 8's butt and the csi 5 kicked the 3's but. This entire set goes together. Good luck and you cannot go wrong but just remember, you will want to upgrade sometime and the difference in the 8 and 10 is big in my opinion. As I read your thread more, I see you will go with the 5 for the center. The only change I see is the 10's from the 8's.

No need for an RTi10 if you're going to be crossed over at 80Hz and using an SVS.

The setup you are looking at is basically what I have. If you can't put the FXi5's to the sides of your listening position, then don't get them.

Ok, so I wouldn't normally consider buying from crutchfield, as they typically represent full retail, but this is looking good. I talked to them today, and they said you can COMBINE the 150$ credits, or USE a 150$ credit on one purchase, and still qualify for the next. So here is the plan:

1.) Purchase the RTi8s for 699 Shipped, and get a 150 credit on next purchase.
2.) Purchase the FXi5s for 499, use the 150 credit, so I get them for 349, shipped, and I recieve a credit for another 150.
3.) Purchase the CSi5 Center for 399, use my 150 credit, get it for 249.

Grand total: $1297

I looked at all the rescently sold items on ebay, and came up with 1325 shipped for the same stuff. BUT No warrantly, no support, and I can by a carton of ear plugs for my wife with the extra 28$ I save!

OR I could pony up the extra $201 bucks and get the Bose Lifestyle system. HAHAHAHAHAH
