Rt25i mounting options

Has anyone used swivel mounts with the RT25i? Any recommendations? I know there are 4 holes on the back of the speaker that are designed to fit a bracket, but what brand fits best? Omnimount? Vogel's? Or, would I be better off with a mount that grips the bottom of the speaker (vogel)?

Ok, here's some background.

I've got a pair of RT25i that I've been using in the bedroom wall mounted by the keyhole slots.
I've decided to swap out my Energy Take 5.2 setup and bring the better sounding Polks out to my home theater and get better use out of them. I'm in the process of getting some other RTxxi/CSxxxi speakers to match them and make the complete transition.

Now, here is the problem...In my current setup, all of the Energy satellites are wall mounted and I would like to keep a similar setup with the Polks. But my theater setup is an open triangle with the TV placed in a built-in corner unit. In otherwords, the speakers need swivel mounts to be aimed at my viewing/listening position.

I've thought about using stands, but since my TV is in the corner, stands would end up being quite a ways out from the TV and the center would be behind it by a few feet at least. That would ruin the near perfect alignment I currently have (all my speakers are within 1 foot of the same distance from me!)

So nobody has any experience using speaker mounts with the RT25i? Looks like I'll just have to risk it and try out the omnimount 20.0 and see how they work.

mine are mounted to the wall via the onboard mount. will be doing something for RT55i's when the ht room is done

B-Tech BT-77 mounts. They clamp on the outer sides...no need to drill holes into the speakers. I use them for my RT25i's, which I have as surrounds.

Those look very sturdy. Where did you find them? What kind of price were they?

I read some more on the BT77. The only problem that I might have with these is the limited 7 degree vertical adjustment. I need more than that for my surrounds since they are mounted high. They might work nice for my fronts though.

I did use the B-Techs for a pair of RT35 fronts years back before I got stands, and they held up fine. They are sturdy as all heck. Sheetrock is not a problem as long as you get good anchors from the hardware store.

My RT25i's are mounted a little over 7' high, and with the full tilt down, the sound is fine. For most surround duties, you don't really want the speakers pointed directly down to your ear level when seated anyway. Good luck. I've had these mounts for about seven years and used them in a multitude of places and with different speakers, and they are still as strong as when new.

How did the RT35 sound when they were mounted on these? I know that stands will give me more options for placement and fine tuning the sound, but my wife doesn't want to give up floor space. I'm trying to convincer her that the sound will be much better on stands, but I'd like to know from someone who has experienced both.

I sold the 35's before I went to stands. On the mounts, the close proximity to the wall upped the bass output. I wasn't a big fan of the 35's when I had them, though. A bit too subdued in the high end...then I went for the Klipsch reference series, which was way off on the opposite side of the spectrum...the high end was killing me (on stands). Any stereo speaker will sound better on good stands than mounted on the wall, in general.

I finally decided to just get some 30" stands for my fronts. Getting the right sound out of stereo was more important than having perfect alignment on all of my fronts for theater. I just hope it doesn't mess with the sweet sound from multi channel SACD (I have time alignment for DVD-A). I also ordered some Peerless mounts that I think might work for my surrounds, but I'm not sure the mouting bracket holes will line up perfect with all four mounting holes on the RT25i. I know that two will line up, but I don't know if that will be strong enough for my taste. If not, I have another use for the Peerless in the bedroom.
