The little HK bumps, hooked it up to the Norman Labs I bought on another GS outing.
Getting some static out of one channel when I adjust the volume, tap the volume control after adjusting and the static goes away. Easy fix ? The stereo indicator light is out , Radio shack for replacement bulb?

Turn the unit off, and work the pots back forth rapidly. ALL the pots, tone, balance, etc.

If that doesn't do the trick, you can by a can of Deox-iT, or contact cleaner at Radio Shack and spray the pots (unit OFF) and work them some more. (you may have to remove the facia, if you can't get to the pots through the top).

Allow for time to dry, and clean up any excess before powering the unit back on. Repeat as needed, until all the scratching / static is gone.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Thanks for the info. I'll hit RS tomorrow.
I think I've found a new hobby besides laying in the recliner and scratching my nads.

Nice little scores. In another life, or so it seems, I worked for Lafayette Radio Electronics in the Hauppauge, New York warehouse.

Contact cleaner is great stuff, but for pots I still use their TV tuner cleaner. It contains a real light lube that will keep the contacts form scoring each other.

That’s cool George, any idea when this model was produced?
I know it was probably before your time.

    Crapola!
That tube amp fetched $87 on the bay.

Now my question is: Now and then I run across those old combo record player/tuner combos in the big cabinets for arond $20, I'm guessing at some point in time some had tube amps, right?

Wonder if those amps would be worth salvaging out?

Depends on what's in there. The drivers can fetch a little also, with Alnico mag structures.

Even grunt Tube Magnavox amps, people re-build them into decent sounding 2ch amps.
