Default FS: Nakamichi RX-202 Cassette Deck - COOL

Nakamichi RX-202 Uni-Directional Cassette Deck (8/10) *SOLD*

(1982-1983 MSRP $900) 2 Head, 3 Motor, Dolby B/C, Uni-directional deck in excellent condition. This is the Nak deck that unloads the cassette, spins it around, and reloads it for playback or recording. You ever see the movie 9 1/2 Weeks? Mickey Rourke...Kim Basinger....this is that deck.

www.naks.com

If you are going to own a tape deck, it should be a Nakamichi, as they once lead the industry in this format and this deck is one of the gems.

This would match up PERFECTLY with Russman's Nak piece....build yourself a Nak rig for your computer room or you Dad....he will ****e himself.

EXCELLENT condition and the unit was spec'd and checked out by the Nakamichi Service Center(VA) a year ago.....this is my baby.

Includes: Original box, original packing materials, original owners manual, original sales brochure.

There has got to a taper out there somewhere....get you old skool on and pick this up.

Item will also be double boxed. If you want a matching Nakamichi RCV....check out Russman's flea market ad.

If you pick up a Nak CDP....that would be one very nice old school rig.

I simply don't tape anymore.

I used to cut a mix tape now and then for my work truck, mainly for durability, but received a new truck a few years ago with no tape deck....and that essentially ended the effort.

The Nak moved back into the rack a couple weeks ago, thought that I might run tape because I was bored that day....but never did, so it went back in it's box.

I would give it to my Dad, but he dubs T2T alot, so it doesn't make much sense from that standpoint. I hooked him up on a nice Sony ES deck....actually ala Russman.

Default I hear you man....

....I've got a couple of hundred tapes in a box somewhere. CD's kind of rule my sound world, especially since getting a cd burner.
I keep saying I'm going to dig out my tapes, but it hasn't happened yet, but it's hard to let 'em go.

When you had it serviced and spec'd, did they replace the belt? I mean it's over 20years old.

How tall is the deck? I want to see if I could fit it in the rack.

It is 4" tall...the other dimensions are nothing abnormal. The belt was replaced.

If the belt fails, I will replace it....period.....throughout your entire ownership period.

I've got a handful of belts too, I'll back Doro up on that one.

Buy it already. What other ****ing deck can you buy that MOVES THE TAPE OUT, FLIPS IT AROUND, DRAWS IT BACK IN, and STARTS PLAYING AGAIN.

I'd buy it, and put a blank 10second tape in it, just to watch that ****.

Cheers,
Russ

Luc - Dude, I have to sell this thing, as my ad on Audiogon is for alot more money and I've got emails out the ass. It's going to move on Wednesday due to some stuff coming in quickly.

I'll keep my antenna out for some more NAK decks....we find stuff all the time, if you are still interested later.

Default Mark, I understand man.

Do what you gotta do.
I was hoping my tax guy would get back to me by Friday and let me know what to expect. I will see him Tuesday and know for sure.

Luc - It's sold man, as I'm meeting him today.

Are you interested in a NAK Dragon? I know it's overkill, but it's the daddy of all tape decks.

Polkatese bought my other NAK deck a couple weeks ago.

Tell me more about your dragon,
cond. price, etc.
I've read a bit about it, does it also
"auto reverse" tapes?

Got it, tested, installed, and enjoyed! bomb-proof packaging, as expected.

Thanks, doro-san, for the smooth flawless transaction! YOU have a Dragon too, in your closet? tsk...tsk...tsk...NAK hogger! :)

I'll PM Shack for the GTL, not that you really need 'em, smooth transactions #200+?

btw, where is the best source for belt? I need one for my Yammie KX-R730 eject motor mechanism. Thanks again, bud!

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
