Default SACD vs DVD audio Real results!

I think this website should end any debate as to which format is better:D At first they make it look like SACD had a possible lead bowling ball in its recording process, but ends up coming out on top! I see the difference in dynamic range between a PCM cd and a SACD of the same album. The FR of the SACD is much more flat or "better" than the PCM version, but we always need to factor in the mastering process that was used for the individual format that effects sound quality as well as the quality of our individual gear. Getting back to the difference between SACDs and PCM I played both through the analogue RCAs for an apples to apples comparison. Let it be known I could have used the fiber optic cable for PCM sound which would have destroyed the even level comparison. Anyway, because of the greater dynamic range of the SACD the sounds were more defined than the standard issue PCM cd. When a recording lacks dynamic range distortion is highly noticeable at the same volume levels as the Hi-REZ format. So the SACD sounds superb at higher listening levels. This website clears up a lot of the differences between SACD and DVD audio. IMO it is a good read so please enjoy it!Here is the link to the website: http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/sacd-dvd-a/

I happen to like SACD better, but I doubt any article on any website will ever end that debate.

I agree with PM on SACD, but picked up a universal for my HT so I don't have to listen to all this crap anymore.

Sorry about reiterating a tired old debate guys:o I wish all of the "segregation" between audio formats never happened in the first place. Having universal players and discs would be awesome. Slapping together a SACD with a DVD-A disc that you could flip would make everyone happy. Anyway, you guys both made good points. ARRGGHHH!!! Why must I put you guys through the pain all over again? Speaking of SACD the range of Celine Dion's voice on my girlfriends SACD really exposed that seed bump of a FR from the OG SL2000 which just about made my head pop. I'm really happy Polk improved the new replacements with silk domes which happen to be my favorite type of dome that I wish could have been there in the first place, but F-it because I'm ordering the silk dome tomorrow and would be happy to sell the OG SL2000 tweeters for $5 each or maybe even give them away...

So who here at the forum would like the blood to flow from your ears from those butcher knifes called the SL2000?
