SDA SRS 2 hiding out in Overland Park, Kansas for $649 BIN

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5773995346

No affiliation. Pricey compared to the deals I've read here on the forum. Opinions on the price ?

I think the price is within $100 of being good for that model. That model is larger than the well regarded SDA 1 models, but does possess quite a bit bigger footprint without adding any active drivers to support the bass. It will pump more bass than the 1s, but requires more power to reach it.

Default That is a decent price....

.......just ask the Russman how these sound,
he'll tell ya.

I have never understood people who put up ads with a BIN the same as the starting point,
but what the hell, that's alot of speakers for 650. bucks.

Bagged em'... I have been watching these from day one,I e-mailed the seller and basicly told him his price was too high, and left him with an offer of $500....Three days went by and I finally received a response...

I just got back with them (4 hour round trip) and they "appear" to be in pretty good shape cosmetically for their age, nothing a good cleaning won't take care of...

Performance wise,I don't know yet, will have to come up with an interconnect....hopefully Polk still has them available...

SDA's in da house,I'm STOKED !!!!

You got 'em for a great price.
Polk no longer has the IC,
but you can make one.

Enjoy!

Mike, I didn't know you were watching these. The reason I mentioned them was they were sort of close to those that might have listened to them at TPG.

I'm happy that a forum member got these so they won't be abused. Congrats! :D

Polk65,No problem man...The SDA's very seldom come up for sale in our part of the country...I might have given too much,I don't know...But,if they are in good working order, I'm happy with the price.

Been wanting to put together a decent 2-channel system for quite a while,I think these babies will be a good start.

The SRS 2's are an incredible speaker, and in an entirely different league than the model 1's. I've had a pair for several years now, and they won't be going anywhere.

You've got the start of a reference caliber rig, not just something 'decent'.

Cheers,

I was able to post a quick question on this forum about these speakers before I became serious about them...As always,I had answers from the SDA pros in no time...There are some VERY good people that hang here...

Thanks to everyones encouragement,I talked to Polk CS today and have an interconnect (they still have the blade/blade) and a copy of an owners manual on the way...

And BTW,Yeaaa Baby...I Dig!!!!

Congrats on your score Mike!

I see that you have Adcom amps listed in your system. Make sure those particular amps will work with the SDAs. They require a common ground amp and if I recall someone here on CP toasted a 5400 this past week with SDAs.

Ignore my caution here if you have different plans, I just didn't want a new SDA owner to get caught unaware as many have throughout the years.

Again, congrats,

Thanks for the "heads up" I might have to wait for a while until I can come up with another amp to check these out...I was planning on a Parasound or Rotel (don't have a lota spare cash laying around).

I will do some searching here on the comman ground amps. that will make the SDA's sing...
