2 Things I hate

We all love new stuff....

but two things I really hate

There are so many packages that have this hard plastic with no easy way of opening. Such as in some cables I bought for my TV, my new powered toothbrush, and a power strip. These are also very popular on CD players. I hate them. I just cut myself again... "It didn't pierce the skin, but Ow, that kinda hurt" Annoying. You buy something because you want to use it. I don't want this extra annoyance. Sorta like that Mitch Hedburg (RIP) joke about peperadge farm..."Why do they have another plastic covering over the bread. I do not want an extra step between me and toast" or something like that.

And two,

For all these DVD's and CD's that I buy...why do you have all of these stickies everywhere? Ok theft prevention has gone too far when I have to remove plastic from each side of the dvd or cd and an external wrapper as well. I've always ended up with small damages to my DVD cases when I try to peel them off (minor annoyance) and it just is so frusterating.

People need to come up with better solutions to these two problems...or I could just be ranting over something really stupid and minor...I think it's the latter.

and anyone have any golfing gloves that they would personally recommend? I'm just getting started. still hitting consitantly around 75-100 yd with a 3 iron and not consistant but 100-125 with a driver...I know i'm the suck....

Try opening kids toys. I have two young girls and they buy these Brats dolls. It takes me more time to open them then it dose to go to the store and buy the thing. Hard plastic cover, tape, baggie ties. They act like the thing is alive and might try to escape and run for freedom to some toy night club the way these things are "dressed".

yeah, 2 girls here too.... they sew the freakin hair in the pack and zip tie the girl in like she's some sort of criminal :D

i might be wrong but i think the reason behind packaging like this is to prevent/lower shoplifting. sucks, but i don't blame the companies for trying to stop people from stealing stuff.

I would rather they institute the death penalty for shoplifters than have to break out the blowtorch to open a ten dollar set of headphones.

Not to mention the unnecessary waste generated with all that superfluous plastic.

One girl here, I can so relate.

I ask my daughter to leave the room while I proceed to open her toys so she is not subject to the mass amounts of swearing involved in opening up her toys. ;)

Easiest way to open a CD is to cut alont one edge all the way around and you can pretty easily peel those stickies around the sides.

If you don't know how to operate a box-cutter, I'd say just have someone else open the stuff.....:p

As for golf gloves, I'm a fan of the FootJoy WeatherSoft (synthetic, not leather). I can't stand gloves that have mesh (they stretch out to the point of being pointless as a glove), or gloves that have a lot of stretch material between the fingers or around the fingers (some have leather along knuckles, and along inner fingerprint side, but stretch on teh sides).....

blister packs are horrible (the plastic packaging).

BUT the soft tags (theft prevention stickers) are necesary because without them you could walk out the door with any cd you wanted. unfortunately if we didn't put these stickers on the cd's then cd prices would go up more to make up for lost merch. as for opening a cd. i'll post an excellent way with pictures sometime later tonight!

I don't have any kids...(thankfully)...

but that sounds pretty harsh with the little dolls there. Too many manufacters saw toy story.

I have the hardest times opening those "blister packs" (new word of the day) I have never once not cut myself on those things. I haven't htought of a box cutter but definatly a good recommendation from now on.

I'm looking around ebay for some golf gloves, but considering going to a store to try some on first. NO idea on what i'm looking for in a golf glove. Guessing fit, and grip?

It's just not girl's toys, either. I have 5 and 7 year boy, and sometimes I have to pick toys that won't take an hour to just open the damn things...

I remember the toys I got... I could never get them out of the package... the best are the action figures that just fall out... or have a little tape over them to keep them from falling out.. but the ones with all the ties are ridiculous...

I feel like an idiot at christmas time sitting under the tree in my sweats with my leatherman tool working on opening a toy for my 5 year old that a 35 year old can't figure out how to get it out of the box.

sorry buddy I think I'm passed the toys till I have my own children. Now all my stuff comes from Fedex or UPS and I usually have no problem unloading it.

I agree with the hard plastic cases. I'm surprise there hasn't been a suit with someone cutting off a finger. I tend to ruin my dvd cases peeling off the security stickers because I peel up part of the case

Those anti-theft stickers on DVDs are NOT to prevent theft. They are a plot to get you to buy the expensive DVDs. Why else would the $5 DVDs have 3 stickers, and the DVDs in $50 boxed sets have no stickers.
