    Cool Loreena McKennitt on vinyl

    Have this on CD already, but couldn't resist pulling the trigger on a vinyl copy. Mantis (Dan) posted a heads-up on this one a few weeks ago, some of Loreena's best work yet.

    Snagged it for 17.16 shipped, importcds. Excellent vendor on amazon. I've purchased from them several times, quick service and they package their shipments very well.

    Figured some of you other vinyl junkies might want to check this out also. This lady has the voice of an angel. She's simply amazing. Can't wait to hear this on my table.

    Yea, she's pretty amazing. The only album I have of hers is Parallel Dreams. Samain Night is one of those rare songs that makes my skin crawl in a good way!

    Ditto... the wife has The Book of Secrets... beautifully haunting stuff...

    FYI... I checked amazon.co.uk and it's there as well. Price looks about same as yours. I've used them a couple times for CD's no longer available in U.S. Shipping is surprisingly reasonable...

    I'm looking forward to your comments on vinyl. But I'm sure she sounds much better on CD. Recording quality never been an issue with her.

    Mailman just delivered my new, Loreena vinyl. Got an appointment at 12:15, so I'll spin it later on this afternoon and post my impressions.

    Per the label:

    Mastered for vinyl by Gateway Mastering and The Mastering Lab. Limited Edition of 5,000 - 180g vinyl.

    I have number 00485.

    I just picked up Enya's The Celts on vinyl. I love that kind of stuff. In a slightly different vein but still very good is Sade's newest Solkier of Love which I also have on vinyl.

    I just finished spinning Ms. McKennitt. Very, very good! Both formats sound excellent, but given a choice, 'vinyl' for me. That's bias and geared towards my passion for records. Subjective also since I prefer vinyl for it's naturally warm tone. Either way, you can't go wrong with anything, Loreena Mckennitt. I highly recommend the 180g LP for you fellas with turntable rigs.

    I feel the same way about Eva Cassidy. But with Eva God only gave her to us for a short while.
