Best Bond Movie I say goes to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". At the beginning of the movie the girl gets away from Bond. George Lazenby looks up into the camera and says, "That never happened to the other guy". Too bad he got canned after one film, he fit the role far better than Roger Moore.
Unfortunately, we've all been stricken with sub-par, way over the top Bond flicks in the last couple of decades. The first couple of Brosnan films were ok, but from there they just got ridiculous.
So, we have to relive our memories of the old flicks.
I don't find myself watching Bond too much these days, although I loved every minute of them when I was a kid. My two favorites that I watched over and over:
Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice. Really liked those, and they had the best title songs too.

Sean Connery IS James Bond.
My favorite movie is "Goldfinger".
Goldfinger. Although Octopussy gets an honorable mention because I like to say it.
Connery all the way though.

I do think Connery is a better actor than Moore, but that particular role was just custom made for Moore (or vice-versa).
Think about it, who else could ride piggyback on the fuselage on an airplane, then fall a quarter of a mile into the ocean and kill a shark bigger than Jaws with nothing but a pocket knife, and then come up out of the water without not even one single hair out of place?
I like Moore too, and in LALD - definitely his best IMO. Oh, but also his best because of Solitaire! Best Bond Babe, IMO.Originally posted by marker

Yeah, a young Jane Seymour was HOT! If I had to pick one though, I'd flip a coin between Halle Berry and Denise Richards. Although Barbara Bach, Tanya Roberts, and Famke Jensen would also merit serious consideration. It'd be inpossible to pick just one!
Oh, to be able to flip that coin....*sigh*

Roger Moore is my favorite Bond and For Your Eyes Only is my favorite Bond film.
If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.
It's like this Woody, if we were dividing them up between us, and flipped a coin to see who would have first pick, and if you won the flip, it really wouldn't matter much to me because I would be more than satisfied with whichever one was left for that you didn't choose. That would truly be a can't lose situation right there!
Well it looks like Moore is actually in the lead so far. I'm a little surprised. I thought everybody was going to say Connery.
I liked GoldenEye. Most of them since have not been my cup of tea...

Yeah, Goldeneye was really good. Famke Jensen was in that one as the kill crazy Russian girl who would shudder through an orgasm every time she killed somebody.
Roger Moore is my fav. I like Live and Let Die and Moonraker. The boat he had in Moonraker that screamed down the Amazon River was total badass!
Tough call on favorite Bond Girl. Jane Seymour and Tanya Roberts are tops for me. Who can forget Dr. Goodhead. YEAH!!!! I like saying that one!
John
I'm not saying she's a slut, but if her vagina had a password...it would be password.
I can't help but to think that the character of Sheriff Buford T Justice used later on the Smokey & the Bandit movies was born from Sheriff JW Pepper.
"You done picked the wrong Parrish to haul ass through here boy!"
I can't believe I forgot that Terri Hatcher was also a Bond girl. She would DEFINITELY be right up at the top of the list!
I preferred Roger Moore. He pulled off the combination of the dry sense of humor and coldbloodedness of the character the best, IMO. Maybe it goes back to his role as The Saint which I really enjoyed.
Roger Moore in "Moon Raker".

In order...
1) Connery
2) Brosnan
3) Moore
4) tie Lazenby/Dalton
IMO some of the worst Bond flicks were the Moore era. IE: Moonraker, The Man With the Golden Gun, For Your Eyes Only and a Vew To A Kill are just poor movies. The Spy Who Loved Me is the refreshing exception to the Moore era and is quite good. A sign of the times I guess. They tried to make them TOO camp, TOO cliche and Bond became almost a caricature, as did the villians. Of Course Dalton's License To Kill and even Connery's s Never Say Never Again were pretty bad. Now the Bond Girls....another story....they were all good (unless you consider Grace Jones a Bond Girl/whatever)
My top ten Bond Movies in order:
1) Goldfinger
2) From Russia With Love
3) You Only Live Twice
4) Thunderball
5) Dr. No
6) Diamonds Are Forever
7) The Spy Who Loved Me
8) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
9) Goldeneye
10) The Living Daylights
As I said....JMO.

I love old James Bonds :)

Sean Connery.
He should have legally changed his name to Bond, James Bond. For some reason I never get tired of watching old Bond movies. Moore was Ok. Didn't care for Timothy Dalton at all. Pierce Brosnan has grown on me, but still not all that great. George Lazenby....George who???

By my quick count, Moore is still leading 7 to 5, but Connery has come on strong when it was looking like a Moore route for a while there.
I'm a little surprised Brosnan hasn't been picked by at least one person though.
Edit- make that 7 to 6 in favor of Moore as Connery has picked up yet another while I was originally making this post.

Thanks for the link H9. Like you, I never get tired of seeing them no matter how many times it's been. I'd say I probably see about all of them at least once a year.
BINGO! Best post yet! BTW, what was the Saint? Are you talking about that movie with Val Kilmer and Elizabeth Shue? Was Moore in that too? I don't remember him.Originally posted by dragon1952

Kim Basinger was a bond girl....not to shabby. She was Domino in one of the Moore movies. WTF was the name of that movie. The bad guy was Maximillian Schell. I'm looking at the web site I don't see it. I'm sooooOriginally posted by marker

Oh and Honor Blackman. "Come here Pussy" " How's Pussy tonight"

Thunderball is my favorite, if I had to pick one.

H9, Kim Basinger was in the Connery movie that came out in the 80s, Never Say Never Again I believe it was called. I don't think she was ever in any with Moore.
There was one who was a Bond Girl in 2 different movies, Maude Adams. She was in Octopussy and 1 other which the title escapes me at the moment.
