A "new" unique technology, patent pending. Hmmm.. I wonder if the seller knows when these were built.

I live in Naugatuck and currently short on funds, otherwise I would have been very interested in these. Good luck reeltroble1 on these, I hope you will be bale to grab them. He has posted an address on the listing, which seems to be a thrift/pawn shop. If someone is interested I can assist in the transaction.

Well, I see some bright person has outbid me by 2.50, guess that will show me. More than likely their bid is higher just not showing yet. I asked the seller what the reserve is, he refused to disclose, only said the speakers "had no KNOWN defects". Sounds like a pawn shop guy who got em from some lost soul. The interconnect cable is included, not much else to say at this point.

Feel free to Bid away JT, the guy seems like a bit of a strange one, it would of really been in his best interest to just tell me or post a minimum start bid for what he wants. I am not interested in getting into an emotional bid war with someone, which I think the seller is hoping for.

Since the reserve is not met at this price I think it will be to high. I hope my post was not interpeted, to be mean spirited. Communication is the key with all forum members. I apologize if I was out of line in any way.

They are at $148 now. I read the posts here and figured they were going at maybe $400-$500. $148 is nothing for these beauties!

Isn't that only about half of what they're really worth if they're in nice shape?

From the added description, they seem to be original SDA-CRS with two tweeters per cabinet and blade/blade cable. Probably not as desirable as the CRS+, although they do have the original stands.

For the two tweeter version, yes! The stands alone are worth at least $100.

150 would be an incredible deal, I seem to remember the cut off for these to be around 300 for a fair sale, since he has the stands, boxes, paperwork etc, someone might feel they are worth more to them, I really just think the my "reserve" is my "secret" does not lend itself to interest based bargaining for either party.

Its his pawn shop and speakers so he can do what he wants, he does not really know what he has nor does he care about polk speakers in general, its strictly for profit, which again is his business.

I am sure one of the guru's has the sales over the past year on CRS.

Edit: What was the reserve I cant see e-bay at work.

Don't you just love Pawn Shop owners(no offense to any CPers that might own a pawnshop). He probably gave $50-100 for them and has had them for the mandatory 90 days and is going to make a killing off them.

i've learned to avoid pawn shops like the plague. I've never run into a good deal there.. most everything is way over priced.

a few months back. there was a pair of RT1000i's in extremely rough shape there.. about a 4 out of 10. really busted up cab and grille was all full of holes. guess what they wanted for the pair?
    $999

I asked how long they had been there. The guy thought..just over a year. I asked if they would take less for em.. he said.. he could knock $50 off of them.. since they were " a little rough".

I'd esitimate the value of those to be around $75 in as rough shape as they were in.

I've got lucky a couple of times buying at a pawn shop, like a pretty nice Onkyo cd changer for $28, but only if they don't know what they have. A friend of mine got a Movado watch, appraised @ $1200, for $50 once. There again the pawnbroker must not have known what he had. But you are very correct, in that 99% of the time they are extremely overpriced and usually higher than MSRP or at least what one could buy it for at an average sale price.

WOW 510.00 I didn't think they would go this high. I have noticed on epay there are several people who bid on all vintage polks. I am still on a mission to find some orginal polk stands.
