The C300.2 is in the car audio section. It's on clearance, and from what I gather in the CA forums, it's a hell of an amp at $200+, much less the $99 price point. It's not a refurb, either.

I just emailed them so we'll see if they have it available for shipping. If not, I might have to see if anyone locally will price match. ;)

I know for a fact that the local CCs and HH Greggs will not price match Fry's on Polk speakers when Fry's puts them on those stupidly low prices. I tried to get both to match the R30, R50, and R15 prices, and they wouldn't, said it was well below there cost. They shouldn't advertise their guarantees anymore, then. I would understand if Fry's didn't put the ads in the newspaper, but they do. IMO, that's bad business practices by CC and Gregg's. They clearly say any competitor's advertised price, period. I can't find where it reads, unless it's below our cost, anywhere.

Not exactly, there is a big loophole.

    Just for grins...

Frys evidently just took on the JBL Northridge line ... full MSRP

    E100s - $500/ea
    E25 - $200
    E30s - $130/ea
    EC250P - sub - $449

    HK235 - $500

I expect to see some discouting on Fridays. I wonder if they are picking up the whole line.

For JBL's consumer line, the Northridge series isn't all that bad. I was surprised to find that the E30s were bi-amp/bi-wireable. And for the $$$, the subs in that series work pretty decent also. I use a E150P for supplemental bass and it does a good job.

Anyone has any comments to the
    HK DPR-2005

I feel it is about time for the Yamaha DSP-A2070 to retire. How does this compare to the AVR line? Any alternative is that price range (900)?

    Thanks,

I'm sorry but even JBL admits that the Northridge series has been a huge flop for them. And if you've HONESTLY listened to them, you'd have to agree. They sound like total dog ass. That's the worst selling brand/line we have at my work. Rightfully so to. The midrange is covered in 6" of mud, the bass is exaggerated yet only covered by 4" of mud. The tweeter has no mud to it, but dear god, I didn't think you could take an aluminum tweeter and make it sound like it's in a horn. UGH! Those speakers are for one good thing only. To sell on ebay. ;)

I haven't heard them. I just thought it interesting that Frys is putting in a competing consumer line, Cambridge, Bose, Polk and JBL. JBL Northridge is fairly popular on AVS, but not at these prices. I also wonder if they are moving another line out to move these in.

If they are as muddy as you describe, it should sell alot more RTi 8's, 10's and 12's.

I tried to get Frys to match their outpost price and they wouldn't do it for me. I even pointed out to them that they clearly say guaranteed lowest price. I was trying to buy R50s when the outpost price was $69 and the Frys price was $199. No biggie in a week the store came back down to $69 anyway.
