Just like the title says.. can i use a Y splitter from the dodd's left/right out to a single rca cable to the mono in on the amp? just playing around and want to increase the input to the amp

Yes you can do it. People do it all the time to combine L&R signals for subwoofers with a mono input.

You sure about that? I thought they had to go through isolation transformers in order to keep from screwing up your pre-amp... Unless it's different SS vs tubes?
edit: I'm not saying it won't work, but the crossing signals would present a weird load for the preamp- I know for some pro-sound things I've done, we feed L-R signals into a combiner box, but you can ghetto rig one w/ a pair of 1:1 transformers.
