Default For Rears: Rti4 vs. RTi6 and FXi3 vs FXi5

Hey guys im getting ready to do a 7.1 system with either...

    FXi3 - sides
    RTi4 - rears

    OR

    FXi5 - sides
    RTi6 - rears

Just wondering if its worth doing the RTi6 and the FXi5 if its a smaller room. Would I only want the FXi5 and RTi6 if it was a bigger room or will it give me better sound.

I will not be doing multi channel music so this is just for games and movies.

if you look at the system builder it says the rti8 go with the rti4 and fxi3, the 10's go with the rti6 and fxi5. but even if you get the rti8 you should still concider the bigger rear speakers.

i agree. i think the reason polk might match the 4's and 3's with the rti8's is price factor, not necessarily perfect match (see size of drivers) However, see my setup below. My room is 20L x 13W x 9H and there is PLENTY of sound for both hometheater and music. You have to look from a price standpoint as well. Even though the csi5 is a noticeable improvement over the csi3- due to bass extension, powerport, biwiring, etc- IMO it does not constitute DOUBLE the price. Same for FXi5's vs FXi3's. I'm assuming you're going to run these speakers as "SMALL" crossed over somewhere around 80hz yeah? Well the csi3 and fxi3 can handle frequencies at 80hz with aplomb. Same with the RTi4's over the RTi6'.

How big does your room have to be to benefit a fuller sounding speaker? 5x5?
