    Default Using RT-2000P for surrounds

Just wondering if it would be a sonic improvement over the RT-35's which I'm currently using. I would be doing away with the CS-245 that I am currently using as the back center. Then using the 35's as the rears in a 7.1 configuration. Then using another set of RT-2000P's as the side surrounds. These would also be used for the rears in DVD-A and music dvd's. Does anyone have a setup that's similar?

Why not? I say go for it!

Some will say you will have bass cancellation issues from multiple in room bass sources, but that is the beauty of powered towers like the RT2000i, you can dial in the bass to what sounds right to YOUR ears, even though it might take some trial and error as far as micro positioning, bass levels, etc.

I'll bet something like U571, Saving Private Ryan, etc. would literally rock your world on a sytem like that!

Plus, for DVD Audio, bass management will be a moot point for you since you can just say the hell with it and set them all to large!

Yea, that would help with bass the management issue. Just wasn't sure if this would be more of a lateral move vs. an upgrade.

I have both a set of Rt2000i and a set of RT35i (RT35i are used as surrounds), and IMO the RT2000/2000i is indeed a MASSIVE upgrade over the RT35/35i. You won't be dissapointed.

Thanks, I'm thinkig the tri-lam tweeter will be an improvement in sound quality vs the soft dome.

They both have tri-lams. The improvement will be VERY apparent.

I am using RT1000i's and rt35i's for me rears. They work great . So 2000's should be great as well. Bass shouldn't be a problem if dialed in properly. I don't have problems in my room and I'm using a PSW 1200 as well. Good luck. Mark
