Rotel RMB-1095

I mucked up the title.. Should be RMB-1090

I have ran across this amp NIB, for 1300, and wanted to get your input and thoughts on whether this would be a good deal, steal, or dud? MSRP is/was 2000. I have read some very good reviews on the amp, but hey, you guys are great at given it straight, so I thought I'd ask.

This would be for another 2 channel system, and not sure the speakers yet.

I haven't picked it up yet, and don't have any experience with Rotel products. So I can't judge the sound for myself. Been contemplating this amp for like two weeks now, just wasn't sure how good a deal it is. Been to the store twice asking about it.... then backing out, lol.

The price is right. The amp is great. I use mine to run SRS SDAs. :o

Bag it and don't even look back. Killer amp, darn good price for NIB.

Rotel is generally neutral sounding.

You mean RB-1090 ...(or RMB-1095 5 ch amp). Be warned, 1090 is almost 100 lbs. It will be difficult to move and you must have a sturdy shelf....it is a beauty.....

Watch out for those heat sink fins on the front too, they'll shred forearms if the amp is lifted the wrong way. Also, the amp is 9 inches in height and best placed on a dedicated amplifier stand, although it runs very cool and doesn't need more than a couple of inches of clearance space above it.

Yes, mine is sold, replaced by the Anthem amp for now. I thought seriously about keeping the Rotel for future use with hard to drive speakers like older Martin Logans, but decided to move on to something else instead.

The 1090 has been discontinued, to be replaced by Rotel's new digital amps this fall. Rotel will continue to offer service and support. Some folks are tripping over each other to pick up this analog amp before they're all gone. At this price, run, don't walk.

I would describe the sound as on the warm side of neutral. True dual mono design. Very nice piece of equipment (but I'm biased). ;)

I spoke too soon, it is still available. Unfortunately the prospective buyer had some unexpected financial things come up. Price for a Club Polk member would be $1050 plus shipping (which ain't cheap). Bump in the Flea Market. It's also on Audiogon, with one semi-serious offer close to the higher asking price there, but who knows how those turn out.

I own the rmb1095 and it's a killer amp. It's very heavy but with the wheels on it , it makes for easier install. Mine sits on the bottom shelf but my shelves can hold up to 100lbs anyway. Salamander is what I own.

1090 or 1095, they're both big mothers. The 1090 for a little over a grand, great deal. 380 watts into 8 ohms. Does it come with wheels like the 1095?

Mine sold through the Club Polk Flea Market to a forum member a couple of days ago.

The RB-1090 also has wheels on the bottom rear to aid in sliding it into a rack. Like the RMB-1095 it weighs about 85 lbs by itself. Both are built on the same chassis, similar power supply, different output devices though.

I considered a rb1090 or a rb1080 to run my front speakers and use the rmb1095 for center and surrounds. If I go back to 7.1 , I believe thats exactly what I'm gonna do.

Whao, Rotel's moving to digital amplification?! Isn't that a kind of rash move? To completely abandon the analog world (especially seeing how they made such great equipment), and move to the digital side of things?

The shelves move exactly where you want them so I can fit it in. Not to mention there is 6 shelves worth of space.
