    Default New ride

    Our 16 year old daughter passed her driver's exam today and is chomping at the bit to drive. She learned behind the wheel of my beloved '97 Deville (which she calls "The Boat".) I told her that's just what a 16 year old driver needs under them-- a boat. She and her friends have now convinced themselves that it's "kinda' retro" (which makes it okay, I guess?)

    What she doesn't, yet, know is that Dad got a new ride today. :D

    Sebring LXi Touring convertible. Old farts like to cruise, too!

    I always liked the looks of the Sebrings. What engine does it have? I know the Mitsu engine they put in them was one of the better engines.

    Thanks max, okie, and F1. It has the 2.7L V6.

    I don't think Ms. Sarah could handle the street rod (but, I still keep the keys hidden well at all times!) I'm keeping the Deville for her to drive.

    Look like this is a tradition in the States... you know... buying a car to your son/daughter when they approved the driver's exam... I think it's cool... we're not able to do that here... not because we're poor but because the cars here are ultra expensive.

    Nice ride... very nice!!! :D

    Nice, indeed. She's gonna be real happy when she sees that you went out and bought you a car! :D

    That '97 Deville isn't bad, though. It have a Northstar V8 in it? If so...I wouldn't mind driving it a bit.....:D

    When I'm around, keep the keys WELL hidden or else I'll be riding off with in that with the Cains and the SRS's strapped to the roof.

    I ALWAYS use an ass-gasket. Never hover because of splash down and back splatter. I also float landing pad made from TP for a soft landing to avoid the above. One can never be too cautious when dealing with the general public. - RonP

    cool ride Blue, congrats. when I worked for Chrysler Financial, I used that as a company car for a little while, A gold Sebring Convertible LSi. It turned heads. It was definitly the plush way to crush :)
