Default MB Quart has new owners

And you wont believe who it is. Mb Quart fans wept when RF bought them but just when we were getting over that we're hit with their newest owners......Maxxsonics!

Yes, one of the most prestigious names in car audio is now owned by the makers of Crunch.

Whats next? Focal bought out by Kraco?
    DLS bought out by Audiobahn?
    Dynaudio bought out by Pyramid?

polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
MECA SQ Rookie of the Year 06 ~ MECA State Champ 06,07,08,11 ~ MECA Finals 2nd place 06,07,08,09

I heard they were bought a few months back but didn't know by who. Gotta love it! Just like when DEI bought PPI and Orion... downhill they went. Anyone want to think back with me when Lanzar was an amazing amp? Til they got bought by Pyramid that was...

Truly, that is very sad. I guess I can just cross MB Quart off my list. :(

I guess with all the corporate scheming and streamlining, what we need are more start-ups, little guys who arent out solely for the bottom line.. whos with me? lol jk

Maxxsonics also makes Hifonics. Crunch is just thier entry level line of amplifiers.

Hifonics/Maxxsonics has been around for decades and while thier speakers might be nothing to write home about, thier amplifiers are quite impressive, especially for teh prices that are charged for them.

Crunch is bargain basement, entry level. The Hifonics stuff on the other hand is actually quite impressive even if some of it is gaudy.

I think that was back when they first came out with those Opti-Drive amps right? I heard those were pretty nice.

I remember I had a couple of Lanzar 15's back in 1992. The box took up most of the trunk in my 77 Buick LeSabre, those things hit pretty darn hard. I was pushing them with 2 Coustic AMP-460's (one amp for each sub). Old stuff man :D .
