How do you make a groovy homemade Cheese Steak sandwich?
I begin by slicing some thin sirloin steak strips as ribeye steak is now 2x the price. This goes in the grill for about 7 minutes a side at 400 degrees. Slice one medium sized red onion in half then half again (nearly julienned strips) then add to a 12" skillet with a tablespoon of sweet creamery butter. When the onion is done sauteing (10 minutes at low heat while stirring) I add some homemade pickled red, yellow, green bell pepper strips from a jar of 50/50 vinegar and water. 5 minutes later while stirring I add the sirloin steak strips. Next grab a roll and after adding some sliced white cheese of your choice (my favorite is jalapeno jack) place the roll in the oven for a few minutes to toast. A couple minutes later... add your fry pan of goodies and serve.
