    What I did for the ropelighting was buy some rope light from Walmart, Christmas time of course and ran it across each level. Each level has a 1.5 inch lip on it so that lights tucked underneath them pretty well. I poked a whole through the drywall and ran the rest of the light through it. I believe they are 20ft rolls and my room is only 15ft wide and them plugged them into a surge protector that is plugged into an outlet the is controlled by a dimmer switch. Pretty easy to do.
