i was actually considering this amp for a while :p

and you could use a 200WRMS x 2 Ch. @ 4 Ohms amp for 2 mm2124s, but you won't be getting their full potential...

Quick question, if i have a MONO amp that puts out 310 watts RMS, can i hook up two subs up to that one channel, and have them bolth be powered by 310 watts each sub?
And, with those two sony subs, should i hook up a terminal for each of the subs? or should i hook bolth subs to the same terminal?

    It depends.

Say you have an amp that makes 310 watts at 2 ohms. That means it will put out 310 watts at 2 ohms total regardless how many subs you have hooked up. 1 sub would get 310, 2 subs would get 155, 4 subs would get 77.5 and so on.

If youre subs are single 4 ohm voice coil subs and you wire them both to you mono amp youll be getting 155 to each sub.

    Default here she is

I took some pics of it.....,

    An overall look at it...

heres the LOGO that i was talking about

Alright, i dont want to sound stupid here, but i have no clue where to start hooking this bad boy up?? What dose, "bat" stand for? what about REM? and gnd? in that for-ground? i feel like a complete dumb ass here!!!!

I assume BRIDGED, i would hook up the negative of the amp to the neg of the sub and the same for the positive right? just like it shows yes?

Heres the "stats" i guess you would call it, is that 150X150 RMS? or can you guys tell from that?

Sorry for all of the stupid bull ****, i konw this is a 6 or 7+ year old amp, i just want to see what the difference is between this and newer stuff, thanks.

it's likely to run very hot, if it's a true class-A amp... looks okay, though...

BATT+ is the +12V line, GND is ground to the chassis, REM+ is the remote turn-on lead from the HU, and to bridge it you would follow the little markings like you said...

    from what's listed on the amp, btw, it's 2 x 150 WRMS, not 150 x 150... that'd be 150 channels at 150 watts apiece :p

fyi, the format is [ quote = name ] blah [ /quote ] without the spaces...

and yes, everyone has to start somewhere... preferably, find someone who has done it before to help you... or, be like me, and be prepared to spend significant time making sure you got it all right before you turn it on...

yea, my buddy shane had hooked up a few amps in his past & he gunna be there to kindof direct me, hopfully i wont screw up my amp, even though its old, its always good to have an amp right?

Also i was wondern, is it ok if i have 2 amps that push 600WRMS @ 4ohms when bridged & hook them both up to a box with one terminal and has 2 12" subs @ 4 ohms each sub. The subs are rated @ 500 WRMS & 1600 W PEAK so the grand total recomended would be 1000 WRMS, but im puttin 1200 WRMS through them, would that still be ok? one more thing, with both subs hooked up to the same terminal, isnt there a "law" that makes the independence 2 Ohms now, or 8 Ohms, its something like that, yea?

I would not strap the two amps together like that... can it be done? yeah, probably... can something go horribly horribly wrong? absolutely... much easier to simply put the 600 watts directly on to each sub... pulling a sub from the box and adding a terminal cup shouldn't be tough...

that would be a plus, yep...

you're using the type-r's, if i'm not mistaken? in that case, the extra 100 watts shouldn't be a problem - be quite sure to set the gains properly, but then don't worry about it...

probably even more okay... i'm not very familiar with sony subs, but their general target market is the teeny-bopper crowd, so they can probably take quite the beating and keep going...

my friend the cable gauge chart says you can get away with 8 gauge, but 4 gauge is usually the minimum reccommended size... i'd go with 4 - barely costs more, just as easy to run, and better insurance and power flow...
