    Default System Showcase

I was just thinking about adding my 'system' to the system showcase. I noticed that there are a few folks using this showcase who aren't using Polk speakers. I would tend to think they actually have some and are probably using them, they just didn't post that rig in their showcase.

My question is how would it be received if I posted my sytem in the showcase? I don't have any Polk's in my system, and I don't even own any Polks?

I may just end up adding pictures to my website, as I'd like to elaborate on my site more, but I just can't seem to find time to work on it.

    SO, what's the consensus?

go for it, bliss! no issue whatsoever with me.

Sid was kicked out because he posted non-audio stuff. But that was ancient history.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    Um.... no I was not.

I was asked nicely, since I did not own Polk products to remove my showcase.

I was MADE FUN OF for posting a picture of a midrange driver with thumbtacks around it. Which was over 2-3 years ago. My showcase survived many moons beyond that point and was removed around a year ago when I branched off into my website.

Was it Polk that kicked you out, or just other members griping? I really don't see the problem with it. Not that it is my call :).

Sid, I stand corrected, I didn't even recall that post at all! oh well, for what it worths and for the record, I will not object to your non-Polk showcase, should you like to post yours.

I will lose no rest or sleep over something of this sort. As it was in the past, so it is now - let the community decide whats in the best interest for the group. There is new blood beginning to emerge and the what, hows, and whys of self governing are changing ever so slightly.

With that adressed - I personally still find it rather distasteful to post a showcase of a system which does not, or never has contained anything from Polk Audio. While audiobliss is a growing member of this forum and will one day shows promise to contribute a great deal, it is important to bear to mind that this is a company funded and owned website.

No final verdict on this side, as I am neutral on this subject matter. Just offering perspectives touched upon from times past...

Geez, just go to Fry's or have someone go for you and pick up a pair of R15s. They are only $39.98 a freakin pair.

    There...problem solved :)

I dont think its the end of the world or you should be dragged out in the street and horse whipped but I think it would be in very bad taste and should be avoided.

That's not a bad idea, Noel! lol

I guess I'll wait 'til I can afford some LSi's, or maybe some RTi's for HT. Until then I'll try to add some pics to my website.

Thanks for all the input, folks!

Well, I got my site up and running about 3 months ago, but I did it in about 3 days while I was recooperating from having my wisdom teeth cut out, so it's definitely not much to brag about. The most exciting part of setting it up was the surveys; I have it set up for the information you enter to be sent to my gmail account, so that's pretty cool. Hopefully I'll make some time to work on it. Maybe over Christmas break.

I'll warn you the colors are bad. I was just playing around with them the other day and got interupted, so those are not the colors I really want it to be.

Noel - Great idea!! I just don't think I'm quite up to a road trip like that yet! :p
