AE Symphonies Tube Line Stage

3 x 12AX7, one for line in, one for line amp, one for line out
1 x 6X4, not exactly sure what it is used for, this preamp features a bulletproof solid-state rectification stage. The 6X4 appears to 'massage' the power supply to the AX's, or buffer the power in some fashion.

All point to point wiring on the drive stage, ALPS volume pot, balance, and selector (4 sources), IEC plug on rear. 4 inputs, 3 outputs (1 fixed - 2 variable). Brushed Aluminum facia, no 'gold' trim on this one.

Missing some top screws (as it came it to me), but I have some extras around here, and will include 4 (enough to hold the top panel on).

Great sounding and suprisingly well built line amplifier, black background, good speed and attack, on the 'live' side of neutral.

SOLD with Electro Harmonix 12AX7 and a JAN (GE) 6X4

Add 3 used Telefunken Ribbed Plate AX7's and a Tungsol 6X4 + $30

Hmm. I'm not real sure. I want to say I'm looking for something a lil' nicer, but I can't say for sure. Regardless, I can't jump on another piece this soon; I'll hafta spread it out a bit, unfortunately.

I must say, thought, that comment about 'on the lively side of neutral' sounds like it'd suit my tastes well.

FWIW, if this is like the AE i had, its a nice pre.. Loved having the 3 ax7's and the tube rectifier.. nice build to.

That's what a 6x4 does, I dunno

A 6X4 is a full-wave rectifier, it's just not being used as such in this application.

The tube was replaced by diodes, that's all. Somebody better jump on this.
