Default How often do you attend live music performances?

Just a matter of curiousity -- participate at your pleasure. For clarity, the intent of the poll is in regard to professional performances (versus you church choir, kid's band, etc. which is also cool!)

We try to go whenever an artist we like comes to town or within 1-2 hours driving distance. It comes down to about once a year.

I've been once in the last two decades. Just don't find them all that exciting. I alomst went about a year ago when Duran Duran was in town but the several Franklins kept me away.

I like to go to Broadway and (mostly) off broadway shows and some concerts when they seem worth the money. (lately not worth the money)

Not many shows come to the sticks of South Dakota. (unless your Garth)
Although I have seen well over a hundred concerts in my 43 years, I still don't see as many as I would like.
I have to make a 4 hour drive to Minneapolis to see most shows.

I consider myself fortunate in that I am a P/T security guard at Giants Stadium/Continental Airlines Arena and get to see alot of concerts/shows that I normally would not attend, either by choice or lack of availability of tickets. So it is not unusual for me to attend up to 6-7 shows a month in season.

Saw Natalie Cole at the Aurora IL theater on Sunday night. What a voice. The duet with the video of her Dad singing Unforgettable was fantastic. 90 min. of pure enjoyment in a small theater venue!

I used to attend shows quite often, but just got tired of crowds. The last show I attended was Liz Phair at the 930 Club, Washington DC....over 4 years ago....I love that woman....and my fruitbat bought me the tickets :)

Up until this year I was a regular Symphony attendee, good for about 8 concerts per season. Add in a couple clubs and a concert = about one a month...

I go to about 10 concerts a year. A group of friends and myself are seeing the Black Keys in a week and a half at a small venue in Wrigleyville. I can't wait!

Don't like concerts anymore. I have this hobby to thank for it. Most of them cost too much IMO and the parking is horrendous. Kinda takes all the fun out of it.

The last concert I went to was Lizz Wright about three months ago. It was a quaint theater in Atlanta, GA with great acoustics. She was awesome. The vocals sounded just like her CDs and her band was top notch. Didn't cost too much, either. There are only one or two other artists I'd like to see give a live performance.

Used to be quantity- mid to late '80's saw tons of shows:
    Rush
    Todd Rundgren
    Grateful Dead
    The Who
    Little Feat
    B.B. King
    The Rolling Stones
    Marshall Tucker Band
    etc.
Last few years has been the quality:
    B.B. King (he's aging gracefully)
Randall Bramblett (A must see live deal here)
But just missed an opportunity to see Buddy Guy in Jax, Fl. last week heard it was a great show.
