    Default Review of Anthem amp

    Hi all,

Awhile back I posted about if or not to get a separate amp for my system. I have since then purchased it and would have to give it a thumbs up. I now find that when I listen to a cassette tape, (yes, I still have a tape deck) that the music just sounds better, more dynamic than before. There are times that I do not feel that the sonic improvement is as great as one might have expected. But that may be due to the fact that many of the recordings on CD date back to the 60's and 70's when recording techniques were not as good as they became later. There are other times though that I really do feel the instruments are more clear or dynamic than before. The unit is rated at 225 watts compared to the 100 watt amp in the receiver. I will be keeping this one awhile. :)

Congrats! Cassettes are definitely holding the amps' potential/improvements back. Remember, a system is only as good as its weakest link.

Should add here that the tape deck is only one of my music machines. There is also CD and DVD players that the amp drives well.
