    Polksters,

If you had a choice between a Rotel RSP-1066 and an Anthem AVM2 processor which one would you choose.

Anthem. I wonder if internal upgrade to AVM30 is an option?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I read a review of the Rotel 1066 and it said it did not hold up to the much more expensive Anthem AVM-20. The 1068 is supposed to rock though.....

    quote taken from AV guide:
In a two-channel, analog-bypass comparison with Anthem's AVM-20, which scored high marks in Shane Buettner's recent evaluation, the Rotel seemed a bit darker and less persuasive in terms of imaging and soundstaging. But the results were remakably close considering the 2x price difference between the Rotel and the Anthem.
    Michael

Edit - for the record, I have heard the 1066 with my cinepro amp and LSi speakers and thought it sounded great. I have never heard the Anthem though and the Pre/Pro landscape will change before I have the funds to purchase one. (about a year away) I am currently hoping to pick up a Rotel 1068, but who knows what I will be lusting for when I finally get the funds together.....

    Default Choose,

    Polksters,

I have the Anthem at home and it's really great at HT and music. I have had alot of stuff from Rotel and to some extent B&K the 307 is great but is going to my brother up north. The AVM2 is not the latest but I found that 5.1 is here to stay and the other "stuff" 6.1/7.1 is a bit far off if ever. I like the Anthem and this peice is mint, I mean the person traded it in for a Anthem Statement series peice but took great care of the unit. The asking price is 800.00 with original box, manual, and remote. I have until Sunday to decide, the Rotel was a bit disappointing in the 2 channel music side, HT side it held it's own.

I would not put any money in HT unless you are buliding a theater or something but really the B&K is sweet, if you are making money on the deal go for it.

    OK Anthem.
