Best subwoofer config. for wrangler yj

I have a 1988 Jeep Wrangler that is used for show and various events. Well I am a polk momo fan and I went to Tweeter and got yanked they built a rear firing box with 2 ten inch momo's that did'nt fit right and sounded like 1980 archer sub's.. I made them take it out. I want the best enclosure and subs that will sound great all around and hopefully with the top off. Basically I want some help with a box , subs and amp combo .. Everything else is Polk . I can fabricate with metal and great with electrical but suck at woodworking.
Any help would be great i just dont want to waste anymore time or money.

Also I listen to Disturbed, Metallica, and but when my girl is with me I listen to Rap and club.. Looking for all around I guess.. Also I have a 200 amp divorced altenator just for audio.. So I am very power hungry

I have no idea what an archer sub is, or what it sounds like, but my guess would be bad... lol. Now do you want someone to build it for you, or are you asking for help building one yourself? Im trying to get the right idea here :)

Its going to be hard for us to talk you thru a box build to custom fit your YJ without being there so I highly recommend you take advantage of one of your local shops. A locally owned shop will have better people with more experience and knowledge and can build you something the exactly meets your budget and SQ needs.

Ok I tried tweeter and got yanked. LOL archer is radioshack brand . But Iwas looking to see if anyone had good luck with premade jeep boxes built for polk subs. Also is down firing the best way to go. and the best sub & amp combo for my jeep.

Provided the box is well made (i.e. NOT plastic) and has the proper interior volume, a premade box will work just fine.

Downfiring is a good trick to get some more output out of your sub. The trade off is a bit of clarity tho.

As for amp/sub combo, if you want a pair of 10's get the MM2104 and a single 500.1. Perfect match.

Tell ya this setup slams it's hiney off lol.. I ran as told 2 mm2104's powered by a c500.1 2 mmc690 6x9's powered by a c300.2 2-mmc6500 powered by a c300.2 premier 860mp . today had the doors off had just about everyone i came near jaws dropped. They could'nt beleive the clarity and depth i had going on. Stopped by a local high end custom shop the guys where all over it wanting to know everything said they never heard a jeep come out like that.. Thanks Macleod for the assistance . My chest and back is still numb. LOL
