Default HK AVR 7300 and tweeter issues

Hello, as you can see from my signature I am planning on buying those polk audio speakers. I have talked to some people who say that Harman Kardon receivers are not bright and produce soft soft, because of the same people tell me that the polk audio non metal tweeters will not produce quality sound. Is this true? Would the sound quality be better if they were a metal tweeter?

solely a matter of opinion. some like metal tweets, some like me, think metal tweets were invented with the sole purposes of making me want to shove a coat hanger in my ear until it bleeds.

seriously though, some would say even the RTi's are a skosh bright, but perfect for home theater. with that Haarmon Kaardon, you should be a-ok

I would suggest you make sure the receiver has pre outs before you get it. seperate amplification down the road would benefit those RTi10's, but it is not nessecary. just thinking for the future possible upgrades

    Default HK and Polk-OK

    I run a HK 235 on 4 R50's in the front.
2-50's for center and 2 for mains.
I went for a higher powered Onkyo when first set up.
    Onkyo was just OK.
Hooked up the Harmon, and it produces a sound so clear
that it made the Onkyo sound muffled.

    You can't go wrong with a H-K.

The speakers in my signature (Monitors) sounds fabulous with the HK receiver. What's the phrase to describe it? Warmy detailed? Very clear trebble but never harsh or too bright, but everything still has tremendous clarity.
