    Default I wish Polk had a ...

Center speaker like the CS1000p, but not powered. You know kinda like a CS350 (model #??) only bigger. 1 tweeter, and 4 - 6.5" mid-woofers. It would have to be a little cheaper than the powered CS1000p. I like the 1000 but it is a little steep $$, I like the CS400i also but think it looks lost on top of a big screen TV, and would love the extra horsepower of 2 additional drivers. This could be a new speaker from polk with almost ZERO new tooling, new crossover, same cabinet, same drivers.

THIS IS A HELL OF AN IDEA.

Who is with me? anyone? hello?

May be this is something for Polk to consider, how about the new CS750?

    Sure make it a CS750i or CS800i.

Polk guys, I may need to have a prototype sent to me so I can make sure it is up to snuff..

Ya, I feel what your saying. My CS400 looks a bit small under my 8' projection screen. My Onkyo 787 could push a "non-powered" CS1000 and it would be worth it for a cheaper price considering the importance of the center channel. But i am trying to say i am done for awhile, my credit cards are dryed up for now. Ha! Ha!

Didn't Polk make a center channel like this, and I don't mean the CS350. Anyone?

Vtec's right. You're thinking of the SRT center speaker.

    SRT center has 4 5 1/4 mid-woofers, 1 tri-lam tweeter, handle 100-1000 wrms.

    CS1000p has 2 6 1/2 subwoofers with 2 50w amps, 2 6 1/2 mid/bass drivers, 1 tr-lam tweeter, handle 20-250 w/c.

    CS400i has 2 6 1/2 dirvers, 1 tri-lam tweeter, handle 10-250w/c.

    CS350LS has 4 4 1/2 drivers, 1 tri-lam tweeter, handle 10-250w/c.

So we proposed the following specs for the new CS800:
    4 6 1/2 drivers, 1 tri-lam tweeter, handle 10-500w/c.

    Default cs 800i center

just put 2 subs not powered in a ban-pass design for the 2 6 1/2 subs and make the subs have their own hook up

Default Just my take on it....

Trilam, or new ring-radiating tweet of course.

    2 5 1/4's and 2 4's

    or maybe 4, 4.5's....

I just think 4 passive 6.5's in a single box, used for a center channel may tend to honk, or sound chesty, esp at higher power. My personal preference for center drivers is 5 1/4 on down to 4. SCREAMING mids and highs....let the sub do the 80-100~ and below...

    Just my take anyway....

    Cheers,
    Russ

Are the specs on the CS350 LS the same as you suggested?

    Default Sure

Scroll up the post...to your previous post....one of my suggestions would match the 350.
