Default Need an "el cheapo" turntable stand.

My budget is pretty much blown, so I don't have a lot of money to put down on a table/stand for my turntable. It also has to be movable because it will likely sit in front of a closet door. Yeah I know, but I'm not gonna build a new house around my stereo.

The best thing I've been able to find is this ($147):

Of course I'd remove the fold down part and the towel rack, and it looks like my albums would stack nicely on that bottom shelf.

Any better ideas out there better than this in this price range?

You don't listen very loud, do you? If you do, you are going to trash your albums and cartridge.

That's probably why I asked for a better idea!

Find a place for a permanent position. Isolate it from vibration, and add mass to the mount.

You don't want to let the vibration affect the player.

If you have solid floors a lot of people from audioasylum recommend the "Lack" stand available from Ikea. I haven't tried it myself.

If your floor is unstable a wall mount of some sort is a good idea. Keep either out of corners where the bass can be a problem.

As Madmax suggested a wall mount might be a good idea.

Here is a link to one if needed.
