    Default FedEx is a Tease

I am expecting a package today from FedEx. According to the tracking info on their website, they placed the package on the truck yesterday morning for delivery, then took it off the truck yesterday afternoon because it was not scheduled to be delivered until today. This morning they put the package back on the truck to be delivered today. WTF? Why didn't they just deliver the damn thing yesterday while they had it on the truck?

UPS did the same thing to me with my Earthquake Cinenova. It made me really nervous but it worked out. Is it heavy?

Nope, not heavy. It's a tube, and tubes are very fragile.

That's about as irratating as logging on and seeing "delivery attempted" when you spent the whole day sitting at home, and you damn well know they didn't "attempt" ****. I've had that happen with UPS, twice.

Yep. I've had that happen a couple of times with FedEx, but not with UPS. For me, UPS is 99% reliable in terms of delivery, but FedEx is a bit cheaper and less likely to break stuff.

Anyone use DHL? I've used them a couple of times and have been very pleased.

    Ditto...

EB, probably just means the day ran out (delivering those promised for yesterday) before they got to your package.

    Early B,

I have been using DHL for almost a year now. They are always cheaper than both Fed Ex and UPS, and as fast as, or even faster than Fed Ex. So far I've not delt with any damaged goods. Every box I sent out via: DHL seems to arrive in the condition in which it left these doors.

That being said, I know a few people on the west coast that cannot stand DHL. Apparently its a guaranteed way to insure your goods will end up lost or damaged.

My company tried DHL once, on a trial basis. We had a loaner system shipped back to us via them, and it came back almost completely destroyed. 20K worth of stuff. Not only that (things happen, i guess) but it took them nearly THREE MONTHS to even send someone out for the insurance claim. If they had handled the situation better they m ight have gotten a second chance, but after that, no thanks.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

why can't Fedex and UPS deliver MY package first? before everyone else's? Seems mine is always the last delivery of the day.. usually between 4 and 7pm. UGH! ;)

DHL is doing a great job right now because they're trying to make a name for themselves. I use them exclusively for Afghanistan/Uzbekistan/Iraq shipments.

Yeah, with FedEx I have received packages as late as 8 pm! How the hell did I end up being the last guy on the list?

For me its just the opposite. I'm the last guy on the UPS route apparently. The last 4-5 UPS shipments came after 7pm. However, I must be early on the FedEx Route because I often see packages before noon.

That's weird. I've actually received FedEx shipments a day earlier than the delivery date shown at their website...twice I think.

STRAIGHT UP, UPS is the devil. fed ex is alright, thus far, in my book. dhl no probs there. all indicators on my cluster point toward UPS sucking arse. how bad are the wildfires in california? my package left san diego on friday slated for saturday delivery and no dice. call them today, give me some lame ass excuse about wildfires. yet the package already departed. sure, their documentation and scanning practices leave alot to be desired, but still, eff 'em.
