Default 600 rms 2 0hm amp ... what is it when you run two amps?

Ok, I purchased an additional Image Dynamics 8" sub (so two subs at 300rms dvc 2 ohms). Trying to decide between a couple of amps.

Impedance will be 2 ohms, but what does a 600x1 rms amp produce w/two subs? Does it split the 600 to 300 each?

the MXA6001 will give 300rms to each sub, in your case it will be a perfect match (MTX is known for being underrated so each sub will get a lil more than 300 rms).

agreed, that amp is quite respectable

Thanks Cr ... I've heard a lot that MTX underrates their amps by a bit so do you think I'd be well served by going with the MXA4001? It's about $60 cheaper.

the MXA4001 should put out about 450ish rms bridged... I think the extra $60 are well worth it... remember: do it right, do it once!!! :)

MTX are excellent amps. Built like a tank and putting out tons of clean power.

Most competition level amps are underrated. MTX, Crossfire are and PPI is obscenely underrated! Ive seen tests done on these monsters and theyre putting out nearly double what theyre rated! Ill stick with Crossfire for now tho. They make plenty of different models and theyre all extremely powerful and well built. Ive shorted mine out more times than I can count and have never had a problem with them.

I would still be more careful. I know my Arc amps could stand that abuse, but I would still try my best to avoid tha.

Hey, maybe you are just trying to get new amps. Too bad your amps are not letting you let them go :D. Little tanks man.

No, Im just lazy and have no patience. I dont feel like unhooking the battery cable everytime I want to experiment with polarity or tighten down the power and ground screws some. Ive arced out against the heat shield before so big that it left a scorch mark! Amp kept on a singing! So let this be a lesson to you all, NEVER let me anywhere near your gear with a screwdriver!

lmao ... point taken, Mac doesn't hook up my gear :) I'm just real cautious which is why I ask so many questions because I worry about shorting or arcing something and screwing up my truck.
