    Talking So who's got a Wii ??

Man, all this hype has got me wanting a Wii! :D

So who's got one? How it is? I'll admit, I was very skeptical a year ago when I heard about the motion-sensing controller. I was really disappointed when I heard about the lack of HD, and DD. I was embarassed when I heard they named it the Wii. I was afraid for Nintendo competing against the big bad PS3.

Despite all of that, here I am now and I think the next "next-gen" console I buy (if I buy one at all) will be the Wii. People are still lining up at all hours of the night each weekend here for a chance to buy a Wii. Is it really that fun? How are the current selection of games?

    I was born with one.

Seriously, though -- they're fun as hell with a group of people. Don't own one yet.

Have yet to see one on the shelf. I was thinking that the golf and bowling sports games would be a blast on my 10 foot screen. :D
PS3 and HD Front Projection, life is good. Too bad Blu-Ray and the PS3 are already obsolete.....

It's great to play. I'm fairly certain that in two years time it will be in the lead in terms of sales.

That would be quite the comeback for Nintendo if it does happen. I think it will do well, but once pricing comes down on the PS3 I think it will pull away.

I bought one but passed it onto a co-worker for what I paid. I check it out and it is fun but I think the novelty would wear off quickly since I get bored of the instant gratification style games nintendo is known for really quickly. Considering it's just a bit over $300 here after tax it does seem like a good option if you're contemplating a new console (wii, xbox, ps3).

They're not hard to get if you know the right people ;) . I think the ps3 rage is pretty much over. I work at a big box store and we usually have two or three ps3's sitting in the back waiting to be sold from all the people returning them after trying and failing to make money off it.

One of the doorprizes at our christmas party (held last week ) was a wii and the guy who won it sold it in 15 minutes to an employee of the restaurant for $350. Then he bought everyones love with a pitcher of beer per table.

I have one. Wii Sports is fun when friends come over or friends bring their kids over. I plan on getting Wii Play in a couple weeks to get a 4th controller and have more "party sports" games. Zelda is great. And it's also fun to browse the internet in the living room on the 47" LCD.

The Wii is pretty better good stuff. I am not a hardcare gamer so I do not demand much. My kids enjoy the the system and have had a lot of fun.

The motion controlers are WAY better than I thought they would be.

Surfing the internet is not very good to me at all, it is rather limited.

The Sports games, pretty good, nothing outstanding, but for free, they are entertaining and get you going right out of the box.

To me the games need to caught up with the system, we have "Cars" this is the least favorite here, they just took a crappy game, and fit the "controls" for the wimote, steering sucks, the game sucks, enough.

My sons LOVE Zelda, this game was made for the Wii.

The boys and I like Call of Duty 3, very cool how they did the controls on this game, true point and shoot, damn Nazi scum.

We also have Red Steel, has sat till Zelda was beat (how can a 9year old beat a game in less than a month?) and is just starting to get some play.

Hoping the next wave of games will be great.

I picked one up a week or so ago. Initially it was one of the coolest things I had played in a long time but I can foresee the novelty wearing off unless the developers keep the control scheme fresh. Right now I own Zelda and Wii Sports which came with the console. Wii Sports is a blast and especially fun with a bunch of friends over. Zelda is actually the first Zelda game I have ever played myself as the series never really interested me all that much. I found that it is an excellent game and the unique controls keep the gameplay very interesting. I can definitely appreciate the Wii for what it is but I personally would not have one as my primary gaming platform. The reason being that (other than Zelda) most of its games are fairly straightforward and simple which is nice but I really enjoy in-depth gameplay with the added bonus of HD graphics and 5.1 audio to really envelop me in the experience. One of the great features of the Wii is the fully backwards compatibility with Gamecube games which helps cut down on the amount of consoles in my entertainment center and on top of that the Wii renders all games in progressive scan.

When I was visiting home in CA over the holidays my friend from EA lent me his when he was in Las Vegas over New Years and my mom and her friends came out to try it out and they had a blast. I don't think any of them had ever played a video game in their life yet thanks to Nintendo's innovative control system they picked it up like it was second nature. I commend Nintendo on the work they have done with the Wii and overall I highly recommend the system to even those who are remotely interested. The price is very reasonable in comparison to the other competitors at this point and with the inclusion of everything you need right out of the box (minus component cables, which aren't necessary right off the bat) including Wii Sports with multiple mini games I give the Wii two thumbs up.

In regards to locating one for purchase, the way I went about it was I called up the local Wal-marts here in GA asking about their shipments and they just so happened to be putting up 30 for sale that very night at midnight. We went up there 30 minutes early to insure we could get one and by the time we left there were on 7 people purchasing one, so we lucked out.

I just picked one up at costco for my kids. They love it and it is alot of fun. Also, you can download old school nintendo games for 5-10 bucks each. With my daughters being 8 & 6, and having a new 32" lcd to play it on, they are in hog heaven. Plus it keeps them away from my rig in the family room.:D

I have a Wii too. Just beat Zelda a few days ago, must say I really like it. Who needs a PS3 or xbox360! (ok so I want those too...) And I just heard you burn 30% more calories playing with your Wii than other sytems.

I play this over a friends house from time to time. Though fun sometimes, I don't think I'm buying it any time soon..

The games I have played are Wii sports, zelda (for only like 10 min), wii play, and some really stupid fighting game... When I play the wii, I was really expecting it to simulate life-like movements... and out of all of these, only one sold me. That of course was the wii bowling. With exception of walking and the weight of the ball, It actually felt like I was bowling. It even does the curve that I usually get when bowling. Eveything else though, it seems like moving your wiimote is just an alternative to pressing a button.

Wii-play is a complete joke (I did like the tanks game though), that tennis game is the only other one worth playing, but you really don't have much control over your player.... So until nintendo actually puts their motion sensor to good use, I will not be purchasing one.

Again, with exception of bowling, it felt like we were taking a step back(not literally:p ). Using the wii-remote gave you less control. Maybe its just me.

I share one with my brother, and I love the system. The games are fun to play, such as Twilight Princess and Elebits. As time goes on the games will get better and better. Just like 3D, it took developers a long time to get it right, some still do not get it... *sonic cough*
