LSI-25 hookup problem

I hooked up the LSI to my amp and am getting awesome mid and highs but the powered subwoofer isn't making any noise. I changed my setup and bi-wired from the same amp for each channel and still can't seem to get any sound from the subs. I set the speakers to large on my AVM-20. Any suggestions?

Not trying to insult your intelligence, but have you connnected the speakers to your AVM-20 with an RCA cable too? Take a look at Fig 6 & 7 in your manual.

Hi, so both subs do not work or just one? How do you have them connected? Does the power light come on both subs? If so is the power switch in the auto or on position? Have they ever worked?

Frank, I'm not offended. I haven't plugged them in with the RCA. I thought that was for additional response. Do I have to connect with RCA?

Eric, both lights are on and both speakers are in the On position. I haven't heard sounds from the sub section but if I have to hook them in with RCA like Frank says, then I'm going to feel really stupid and apologize. :p

Regarding wiring, I have bi-wired with 1 set of speaker cables going to each of the two posts. I thought that was enough to drive the subs.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say yes you need to hook up an LFE cable in order for the subs to receive a signal.

Bizarre twist. Ok, I misread the switch diagram on the back of the speaker. I thought center was on and up was off. The light was green with the switch in center position. Anyways, I flipped the switch and suddenly there's bass. Is that just the subs working in passive mode because I ran a set of wires to the lower posts? I'm going to take your advice and buy an interconnect later tonight to test out running one from the pre/pro to the speaker to see if there's a difference. Thanks for your help Frank.

Ok, the speakers work without plugging an interconnect into the LFE slot but they sound deeper when you do for future reference if anyone reads this. It's a matter of how much bass output you want.

i might be wrong too. but i don't think you need that RCA hook up to your LSi's. the regular speaker cables should be fine. if you are running biwires.. you should remove the jumper. if you're not running biwires and you still remove the jumper.. you prob won't get either highs or lows.. that sounds like maybe what you did.

don't bother with biwiring and keep the jumpers in place.. biwiring only works well if you have seperate amps for the highs and seperate amps for the lows.

Thats not bi-wiring, its bi-amping. Apples and Oranges.
