I reformatted my desktop today, so now I'm trying to reinstall everything I had on here. I reinstalled AIM, and ended up installing their new Triton version or whatever it is...doesn't work well and don't like it...where can I install an older version?

Also, I went to GAIM's website and installed 1.5.0, but I'm having problems with making it work. I remember I was using version 1.3.0 before, nd if worked just fine. I looked through the older versions on GAIM's website, but they have at 20 different listings for version 1.3.0. Which one do I want?

What's not working about GAIM 1.5.0? Chances are an older version of GAIM will not work at all - AOL changes their protocol once in a while and GAIM has to fix the program to keep up.

Personally I keep away from AOL's version of AIM - such a cluttered piece of garbage.

Everytime I start GAIM 1.5.0, it locks up, and I have to forcefully close the program.

I downloaded and installed GAIM 1.3.1 and it's working just fine for me. I think I'm gonna stay with it. Thanks for the help, folks, though!

They've been taunting us with GAIM 2.0 for the past 3 months or so, so hopefully when that comes out it'll work for you.

Did you try aimexpress? It works pretty well with IE and Firefox. Just click aimexpress from www.aim.com.
