    Default Importance of matching surrounds

    Hi all,

I currently have RT800i and matching CS400i. I'm on the cusp of hopefully acquiring F/X500i as surrounds.

These would replace the Bose 301 series bookshelf speakers I have now. Of course I want everything timbre matched but for the amount of material coming from those speakers how much difference would there be between say the bose 301 vs. the F/X500i or say the fxi3 (or fxi5)

Feel free to make analogies or whatever. I'm just curious to know how others would describe the differences when they have made upgrades or changes to their surround speakers specifically. If the difference is pretty minimal or barely noticeable I might reconsider my F/X500i purchase and opt for the fxi3/5.

Or will i just regret not doing it "right". As I said I'm of the mind to just do it right but again if the difference is negligible I'm not averse to saving a few bucks either.

The new HSU is Sweet - It makes movies fun again!!

    Thanks as always.

Agree... For music, yes. For movies, not so much.
