I have had RTA 12B's since the 80's. They still sound good to me, but I'll confess I no longer listen as critically as I once did. (I'm also in my 50's - it's likely I don't hear as well either.)
Can someone tell me about the costs/complexity of renewing these speakers? Are equivalent drivers available? Will any crossover components need to be replaced? Are there upgrades that knowledgable people would recommend?
Also, the "rosewood vinyl" covering has become sticky all over. Does anyone know of a good cleaner/solvent for this problem?
Nice to see a company I admired so long ago continue to prosper and please its customers. We were audio dealers in Raleigh, NC, in the '70's and '80's, and Polk was one of our favorite product lines. We were the first store to offer them.
Using these speakers in a 2-channel system with a Hafler preamp and Onkyo M5130 amp. (The Dynaco Mk III's have been retired to the attic - any buyers?)
