RM series

I have looked through NUMEROUS forums and can find nothing on the RM series. I can't believe that no one owns these speakers. I have a 13x15 room opened at one end. I am sure there are plenty to tell me that the RTI line is better but I do not want to clutter my room with speakers of these size. I would like some real opinions of the RM line.

The 6900s were the most expensive polk satelites ive heard and they were ok... At least they sound ten times better than the bose for the same price.

I find them to be quite expensive for what they are. I am not a fan of the silver plastic looking speakers either.

The RM series is your best bet for the least intrusive looking speaker line, unless you own your home and can go inwalls, then Polk has some nice performing alternatives at all price points.

I started with Polks sub/sat rigs but found that with the digital movie formats containing full range information now, the bigger speakers just do the job better.

I have RM6751sats with center. They sound crisp and clear you need a good subwoofer. But bookshelf speakers a much better. You can find them for $40 each or less.Still get good sound

had the rm6900 and its awesome for satellite speakers. real aluminum/very good quality. sound very nice, you should get the RM6900 if you going for the rm series.

It might sound like a bad suggestion because it's going against what you've said but I think it would be quite beneficial in the long run if you went for something like RTi4's all around with a CSi3 and a decent sub for around the same price as the RM6900 series (going off msrp's). I don't think it would be an issue of you not enjoying anything from the rm series, but more of that you'd enjoy the rti's that much more. The RTi4's have built in wall brackets so if you really must you can hang them on the wall just like the rm's.

Just trying to save you from having to make that extra step to upgrade once you get hooked. The rti and monitor bookshelves are not big speakers and really wouldn't take that much more space than those of the larger rm series. If you can try and give them both a listen and hopefully that will help you decide.

I too started out drooling over the rm series at the local audio shop but then I passed on that idea and went for something much better. I now own LSi7's and couldn't be happier (for what I paid anyways).

Some RMs are better than others....nice little speakers with pretty good sound...obviously not full sound but very good....need a small SW to round out sound....I use them for surround duty and center now...

If you're even semi-serious about Home Theater you're going to catch the upgrade bug. I started with the RM6900 series and quickly switched to the 'larger' speakers.

Now I think of them as a piece of furniture that adds to the ambience of the room.

The RM line is good for what they are, and I am sure you'll be happy. I just think that if you're going to get really into it you might just want to do it up right first. Satellite speakers will always be limited in their performance.
