Not to pile on, but - for the record - I have a gut-level, negative reaction to loudspeakers that look like evil robots in low-budget sci-fi movies and TV programs. Any of them with the hunched-over tweeter/MR sections come immediately to mind.

I would have two of those "robot lookin' speakers" in my living room and I wouldn't think twice about it. There are sonic reasons for the robot look and those who are familiar with the speaker, know what they are. BTW, those B&W speakers, if I'm not mistaken, are not the real thing. Ah, they are not. Check out the video below of the DIY B&W 800D set of speakers seen above...

Whoops. I see that you posted that about 8 minutes before I posted. [Took me a little while to find the video and verify that it was, in fact, the system I was thinking about]. Sorry about that and yes, incredible DIY. Perhaps the most extensive DIY speaker project I have ever seen.

That builder has major skill! I know they are replicas, but it would be easier for most people to pay $24K for those speakers then to build them that well.

Great picture off the Sandhills cranes, I have a pair that nests in the field in front of my house every year, they are pretty awesome birds almost look prehistoric

Thanks. We have a few thousand that show up every year between Nov. and Feb. It's pretty cool to see this many in one place. I took these shots earlier this week.
