Here's an unusual application of Polk floorstanding speakers...
My PA mains (2 pair of R50's) for playing with my trio. While this photo shows them sitting on top of my 15" subs, I also have tripods and mounts that put them well off the floor for larger venues. I drive them with my (nominal) 1000 watt Yamaha powered mixer and run the subs off of a separate power amp. We have played some pretty large venues, and while the R50's are hardly state of the art, I far prefer their sound the overly bright PA speakers that are typically used for my application.
Or maybe I'm just becoming a Polk geek!

In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.
